Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 14, 2006 ornage body with yellow highlights.nice foamy white head that left nice webbing on the glass.light citurs hop aroma with a good malt backbone.flavor was a mix of the aroma.along with some lemon and pine.not overloaded with hops as some ipa’s are,but it has just enough to keep you interested.this is very well balanced and is a nice drinking experience for sure. troopie (851), USA Oct 3, 2006 Bottle. Small white lasting head. Golden orange colour, slightly hazy. Slightly citrusy aroma, reminded me of tangerines. Balanced flavour, not heavily hoppy like many IPAs. Almost like a Cape ale. Crisp finish, again like a Cape ale. Good with braai, sushi or a session after a long day. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 27, 2006 tap at the brewpub - Pours golden and lightly hazy with a thin, lasting head. There’s a good citrus hops aroma and a better hoppy taste that’s well balanced by some caramel malts. Enjoy the crisp, hoppy finish. Very good IPA. Ughsmash (3983), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Sep 26, 2006 Bomber. Poured a clear medium golden with a short-lived cap of off-white head. Nose was quite fragrant with dried pine needles, grass, spiked caramel, and some pink grapefruit. Very, very bitter in the flavor department and on the palate... primarily of fresh pine needles and lesser grapefruit... tacky caramel base couldn’t quite hold it up. Bitter pine finish with a bit too much overt alcohol in there. Decent IPA. joss (3633), Garching b. München, Germany Sep 25, 2006 Bottle. Hazy amber, low creamy head. Grassy and peachy hop aroma. Very
well balanced - ok chewy body and quite present aromatic hops. Very nice. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 18, 2006 Pleasant, sweetness and toasted malt character balances nicely with citrus (tangerine/grapefruit) hop character in the aroma. Lightly hazy burnished copper coloured body is topped by a thin but lasting white head that leaves some sudsy lace. Caramel malt is prominent along with grapefruit citrus hops and moderate bitterness. The battle between citrus hops and caramel sweetness echoes in the aftertaste along with a surprising note of chocolate. Medium body with soft texture and moderate, lightly effervescent carbonation that engages the tongue and cheeks. Sampled at Mondial 2006. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA Sep 16, 2006 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a nice white head on top. Aroma is citrus, pine, grapfruit, and hops with a little bit of malt sneaking in. Flavor is grapefruit and pine with a nice finishing of caramel to finish the deal. Another good PNW IPA! BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 15, 2006 On Tap At Elysian Fields Seattle. pours out a nice golden topped with a white head. A great aroma of citrus and pine. A very nice tast of hops.
