Snegurochka (69), Tromsø, Norway Oct 6, 2009 Pint bottle bought at Pike Place Marked, Seattle and carried to Tromsø for the first superpower beer session 13.01.09. Yellow amber with at slight haze. Fruity aroma of apricots, pineapples and oranges. Rich in flavour, with a little sting in the finish. drjay44 (760), Salida, Colorado, USA Oct 4, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours a thin white head with extensive lacing, over a clear coppery gold (SRM 10) body.....nose is grapefruit, pine, toffee.....taste initially is slightly sweet malts, with toffee, then hops arrive with pineapple, grapefruit, pine and a mild lingering bitterness....mouth feel is medium heavy, carbonation a little bigger than many. An IPA for sure, done with a slightly lighter hop hand then many from the "Left Coast". This is a bit more English in style, except that these are American hops we are tasting. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 3, 2009 Wow. Great hop-from-the-vine aroma. A lot of beers with great aroma from elysian. After the other beers so far I expected a hoppier IPA. A nice hop finish, but in reality on par for a SoCal IPA. The avatar is more interesting. A nice bitter finish though. Ungstrup (14762), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 2, 2009 Bottled. An amber beer with some sediment floating around under a beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, fruit - primarily peaches, hay, and dusty hops. Not that exciting. gracefullypunk (272), Washington, USA Sep 22, 2009 (Cask) Pours copper orange with a foamy beige head. Aroma is primarily floral hop with some grassiness and citrus. Palate is very smooth. Finishes a bit thin, but the floral bitterness lingers. cstuartj (305), Washington, USA Sep 13, 2009 A Northwest interpretation of a classic English style, golden copper in color and loaded with New World hop flavor and aroma. DalzAle (476), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA Sep 11, 2009 Tap(Dry hopped version). Hazy golden yellow pour with plenty o’ carbonation. Aroma had some faint hops, but was not very strong. Flavor was fresh bitter citrus and hops while finishing herbal and dry. Good brew. Wombata (74), Kobe, Japan Sep 7, 2009 Color: Hazy orange
Aroma: Moderately grassy, citrus & grapefruit
Flavor: Same as the aroma.
Comment: Balanced. No excessive malt or hop bitterness. Quite drinkable, but doesn’t really standout.
