Sep 18, 2006 Pleasant, sweetness and toasted malt character balances nicely with citrus (tangerine/grapefruit) hop character in the aroma. Lightly hazy burnished copper coloured body is topped by a thin but lasting white head that leaves some sudsy lace. Caramel malt is prominent along with grapefruit citrus hops and moderate bitterness. The battle between citrus hops and caramel sweetness echoes in the aftertaste along with a surprising note of chocolate. Medium body with soft texture and moderate, lightly effervescent carbonation that engages the tongue and cheeks. Sampled at Mondial 2006.

Sep 16, 2006 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a nice white head on top. Aroma is citrus, pine, grapfruit, and hops with a little bit of malt sneaking in. Flavor is grapefruit and pine with a nice finishing of caramel to finish the deal. Another good PNW IPA!

Sep 9, 2006 milder hop aroma, less dense & resiny, almost flowery, but still some bitter notes. light in texture as well, with an orangish straw color, slightly cloudy, and white but thin head. hop flavor slightly fishy, dances nicely on the tongue, clean & crisp, cept that lingering oil. hop chorus well balanced otherwise

Sep 8, 2006 Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Mostly clear, golden ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Floaties distributed sparsely throughout the brew. Excellent retention. The nose delivers very subtle notes of grapefruit and pine. The flavor is full of chewy malts and juicy hops. Toffee, caramel and a marriage of tropical and citrus fruits. Medium-bodied and ultra-creamy with moderate carbonation. Lengthy, tingly, bitter finish. Thanks, kenb, for shipping the bottle my way!

Sep 4, 2006 bomber via trade trade with Buck Dich - Pours a clear amber color with a nice size off white head that quickly fades to a film. Nice lacing. Has a toasty malt, light citrus hop aroma. Flavor is bitter with some residual malt sweetness and citrus hop. A smooth, medium body beer. Good beer. Thanks Jordan.

Aug 29, 2006 22oz bottle via trade with kenb! - Thanks Ken! - pours amber with a big offwhite head that stays pretty well and laces the sides of the glass. Nice aroma of grapefruit and pine over caramel malts. Flavor contains lots of hop flavors, grapefruit, pine, some pineapple, and a touch of malt, biscuit and caramel. Pretty well balanced and an easy drinker. The beer is well carbonated but not overly so. Medium body. I enjoyed this one.
