holdenn (1432), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 18, 2006 12oz bottle pours golden copperish with a thin white head. Light floral and hoppy aromas. Flavors were citrussy and carmelly, with a lightly bitter finish. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 9, 2006 Clear copper pour with a thin white head. Good aroma of floral and fruity hops. Good flavor of floral citrusy hops with a bitter finish. The mouthfeel is dry. A good PNW IPA. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 8, 2006 22 oz Bottle: Clear copper with off-white, foamy, smaller head. It has aromas of strong tangerine and other floral essences. The taste is quite interesting. At first, you notice the strong bitterness similar to grapefruit rind which then moves to an earthy flavor of some sort and then later you start picking up sweet flavors like cheap, hard candy and mild perfume. These flavors remain through to the aftertaste. The carbonation seemed higher than average and the feel is full and creamy. Yummmmmm. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Aug 8, 2006 Updated: Aug 9, 200622 oz bottle. Average size dense head that dissipates quickly. Somewhat hazy blonde/amber color. Sweet/flowery aroma. Nice caramel malty hoppy taste. No bitter overly hopped aftertaste like I have experienced in some IPAs recently.
I know some people like that, but I prefer a balance where at least taste some malt and SOME of the malt lingers in the aftertaste. Bitterweet instead of just bitter, and this one is a perfect balance i think, Nice. Very nice. The other IPAs went fully (after 3 drinks) or partially (after half the beer) down the drain tonight. Not this bomber. I am gonna finish this one :=) 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Jul 11, 2006 Thanks Dave. The beer pours to glowing amber/copper body with lots of visible carbonation and a huge fluffy and rocky merengue light yellow head. Awesome lacing. The aroma is leafy hops, lemon juice, citrus. The flavor is like lemon juice mixed with sweet caramel malts. The palate is almost sourish from all the lemons. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jul 11, 2006 Bottle. Particulate-laden yet clear orange body with a ton of carbonation. All that carbonation produces a big stiff rocky white head. Dry caramelly aroma with a lemon head and dried spice hopping. Interesting flavor - acidic lemon juice, unripe strawberry and dandelion all over dry toasty caramel malt. Neat refreshing acidity but the malts are lacking. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jul 11, 2006 Really thick yellowish off-white head. Hazy golden copper body. Aroma is muted... maybe from the foam. Light hops. Has an interesting fresh citrus character... not overdone or typical. Flavor is a bit of the same... nice citrusy and slightly sour hops with a little malt to give it sweetness. Not sure what the hops are, but they are different than the norm. Good all around flavor. A bit different with its slightly atypical hops and slight sourness. jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jun 28, 2006 Nice hazy golden pour with a small white head. Aroma is clean and hoppy, just as an IPA should be. Taste is a smooth hoppiness, with floral and citrus tones. Malt is also present, but not overly sweet. Nice brew.
