Only slightly bitter, but the Cascades hit you right off the bat. Malty with slight sweetness.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A much cleaner, crisper beer than their Pale. Big Lemon/citrus aroma and flavor, maybe some fesh mown grass as well?

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer was kind of disappointing. There is definitely a tasty hop presence (although a bit mild), but on the other side is a very unsatisfying barley malt that is rather reminiscent of Hamms or Budweiser - danky warmth, just boring and kind of gross. Never really shines, just sort of sits there looking very depressed waiting for something to happen to it because nothing is ever going to happen tp the consumer save a slight twitch of the mouth in confused remembrance of beers abandoned but not forgotten.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
I may be going out on a limb here but here goes it...Nice looking beer but lacking a strong head. Malty flavor, missing strong hops, finish is weak. Nothing really holding this beer together.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
No strong hop flavor but it’s in there somewhere. Not a true ESB in my opinion, off-aroma, like garbage. Maybe this bottle was bunk, who knows? Tasty but not impressive.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mainly clear amber with copper hues. Thin, pasty off white head. Very light carbonation. Mellow aroma of caramel, cherries and subdued pine notes. First sip is lightly crisp, mostly gentle natured though. Hoppy with pine and grapefruit rind notes and bittered nicely. Medium light body. Dryish. Hints of roasted and nut skin maltiness. Hoppier than it is malty, but adequate. Resinous hop flavor takes over mid way. Remains dryly malty throughout. Finishes with a nutty dryness and less ballcrushing hop flavors. A hoppy, session ESB.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful copper-amber color with a head beyond rocky---this had craters in it! Aroma has most pleasant floral/fruity/hoppy quality. Bitterness attacks at first sip but does not overwhelm. The sensation slides back in the palate with the libation and finishes quietly (and predictably) dry. This is exceptionally smooth for such a well-hopped offering. Enough body from malt to be felt...All-in-all, a well-crafted, well-mannered and distinctive bitter.

4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Orange-amber appearance, healthily carbonated, and having a small head. Slight ESBesque bitterness detectable in the aroma. I was really surprised at the level of tastiness this brew generated with a wonderful hop-bitterness that would complement seafood as well as other culinary assortments. Very smooth on the palate with no noticeable detracting points. A superbly crafted ESB--the best I have sampled to date. It is quite a shame I am only discovering this beer now as the brewery is soon to be defunct.
