| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 3, 2005 A murky brown appearance with a moderate head. The flavor was quite sour with some peach, raisins, and other citrus lurking. The palate was a little thin but it was flavorful. A pretty good deal here. marcus (1918), Sacramento, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2007 Body is a nice amber with a loose off white head. Aroma is a sweet tea like smell, with a present hoppiness. Taste is pretty hoppy, of the floral variety, followed by a caramel background. Pretty straight forward, and good. jeffc666 (1899), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2004 slighyl hazed copper body topped by an off-white head. Odd hop choices for the style, but not bad. Piney and grapefruity with a crisp caramle finish. Medium body. iowaherkeye (1895), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 29, 2009 $3.49 @ Bottle Barn--I think this is my first Elysian beer. 22oz, no date. Clear copper orange with a two-finger light yellowish white head, good retention. Some caramel malts are dominant with just a touch of toasted malts. I can only pick up on a little generic citrus hops (Cascade, I think). Flavor is much the same with lots of caramel and a little toasted malts, but seemed a little bland. Not much hop presence, though bitterness was surprisingly peaked at a 4 in the dry finish. Light carbonation with a medium body. Easy drinking, and not too bad. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 10, 2004 I had to immediately pop this open, upon reading TAR’s raving review. Copper Kettle glowing orange, with a frith of tan thickness sitting on top. Dry pine needle, pile of leaves hoppiness with underlying Snicker bar nose. Surprisingly light body, but very fluffy mouthfeel immediately. Tarry pine at first swallow, strong leaf and some biscuit as well. After it warms, more malty features present themselves. Nougat, caramel and hazlenuts. Piney, bitter hops last through the whole taste, and last long after swallow. Some saltiness and more nutt flavors as it warms up even more. A very tasty ESB, right up there with my favorites from Alesmith and Rogue.
