reebtogi (4146) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 21, 2014
Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is grainy with hints of tropical fruits, pine and grapefruit. Taste is a citrus and pine hop bitterness with a tropical fruit and malty sweetness. Medium body with good carbonation. A nicely done IPA that is hoppy but refreshing.

Pours a clear reddish copper with a foamy white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of caramel, tropical fruits, light grass, spicy hops and mango. Taste is caramel, rich pale malts intertwined with spicy hop bitterness, tropical fruits, mango, light roast flavors present and add complexity and a nice smooth bitterness on the finish. Easy well balanced red ipa that’s complex.

Bomber to taster (sharee by Thuggins). Looks good for the style; a transparent amberish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells of bitter hops with a sweet amber malt profile. Some toffee too. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.

JohnRMurdoch (3240) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - MAR 8, 2014
660ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Dark reddish amber brown, not much head. Fruity resin hop aroma & flavour. Sharp with bitter aftertaste. A standard quality American IPA.

maxwelldeux (3542) - Everett, Washington, USA - FEB 24, 2014
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear darker amber color (with some hints of red in there) and a moderate light tan bubbly head on it. Nose is noticeably hoppy, but I think this might have sat on the shelf a bit too long, as it no longer seems fresh enough to get the pleasant hop notes out of it. Taste has a nice level of bitterness up front, then settles into a very slightly sweet finish with a hint of citrus in there. I really wish I had this fresher...

Light haze on this red - amber beer, good cream coloured head. Palate is softish and airy with fine carbonation. Smooth malt, slightly soft. Spicy hops - pine and a whisper of skunk. Underneath are mild tropical fruits and peel. Smooth semi dry finish. Nicely joined up and pretty drinkable.

Poured from 6 fl oz bottle. Clear amber with full off-white head. Medium citrusy hop aroma. Taste is predominantly the hops with some very subtle caramel malt. Medium-Full body, creamy(-ish) texture.

Bottle from Brewdog Birmingham; chestnut pour with voluminous off white head, nice caramel and pine aroma, taste is a well balanced mix of malts, piney hops with a hint of caramel, grapefruit and spice ABV is veiled, good stuff.

maneliquor (3057) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 10, 2014
Bottle thanks to Paul the Scopester and Mrs Scopey. Well kind chaps they are. Pours clearish ruby red with a small, dense beige head. Nose is quite nutty and resinous behind big piney hops. Almost like wet wood. Taste is pine driven stuff with charred wood, big nutty undertones and sticky sweet earthiness. Very apricot jam forward throughout. Drinks well. Sweetness doesn’t overpower. A solid shout

Scopey (6669) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2014
Bottle at BD Sheps B. It pours clear deep red with a small white head. The nose is pine, resin, red fruits, jam, candied citrus peel and caramel. The taste is bitter-sweet, pine, resin, varnish, red fruit, jam, toffee, citrus peel and some alcohol warmth with a lingering bitter-dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A bit chewy. Decent red IPA.
