3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Transfer from BA review on 3-29-14-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed copper-amber color with a one finger of just off white head. The head fades over a time span of about 2 min. leaving some bit of foamy lace behind on the sides of the glass.
Smell – A blend of a caramel sweetness and a good showing of a more bready nature are largest in the smell. A rather strong hop aroma is there as well with aromas of a grapefruit and slightly herbal nature being the strongest and just a hint of an earthy smell lurking in the background.
Taste – The taste begins somewhat like what may have been expected from the nose, but slightly skewed. It begins with a rather strong caramel sweetness with a smooth bready taste more so then the nose would have suggested. The hop flavors are on the other side of the skew however with them being lighter than the nose would have suggested. The hop flavors start out almost entirely of a grapefruit taste with that later being joined by some lighter grassy and pine flavors coming to the tongue. A little bit of a tangerine sweetness as well as a tiny bit of yeast taste joins the flavor at the end, leaving one with a rather sweet and moderately, but lighter than the nose would suggest, hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the sweet and bready flavors of the brew the thicker and creamier body are nice for creating a chewier feel overall, all while still managing to uphold the hop flavors of the brew and making them shine a bit as well.
Overall – A rather sweeter and somewhat lighter hopped IPA with a rather nice chewy feel. This was a rather enjoyable drinker with lots of malt bill but yet balanced some by the moderate hop.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"this second holiday offering was also full flavored, robust, and a little malty, but had a full hop compliment and was more assertive, floral, and bitter than Bi-Frost. Sorachi Ace hops lending a cool, unique character to the beer."

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is grainy with hints of tropical fruits, pine and grapefruit. Taste is a citrus and pine hop bitterness with a tropical fruit and malty sweetness. Medium body with good carbonation. A nicely done IPA that is hoppy but refreshing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear reddish copper with a foamy white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of caramel, tropical fruits, light grass, spicy hops and mango. Taste is caramel, rich pale malts intertwined with spicy hop bitterness, tropical fruits, mango, light roast flavors present and add complexity and a nice smooth bitterness on the finish. Easy well balanced red ipa that’s complex.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber to taster (sharee by Thuggins). Looks good for the style; a transparent amberish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells of bitter hops with a sweet amber malt profile. Some toffee too. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear darker amber color (with some hints of red in there) and a moderate light tan bubbly head on it. Nose is noticeably hoppy, but I think this might have sat on the shelf a bit too long, as it no longer seems fresh enough to get the pleasant hop notes out of it. Taste has a nice level of bitterness up front, then settles into a very slightly sweet finish with a hint of citrus in there. I really wish I had this fresher...

Light haze on this red - amber beer, good cream coloured head. Palate is softish and airy with fine carbonation. Smooth malt, slightly soft. Spicy hops - pine and a whisper of skunk. Underneath are mild tropical fruits and peel. Smooth semi dry finish. Nicely joined up and pretty drinkable.
