4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours amber with a white head on top. Aroma is mango, papaya, pineapple, citrus, and caramel. Flavor follows the aroma with mango, papaya and pineapple hops upfront balanced out with sweet caramel. On the palate the beer is medium bodied with nice crispness from the carbonation. Nice flavorful well-rounded beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The color and clarity of the beer is a bit off putting. It isn’t red, its a cloudy brownish orange. Aroma is nothing like an IPA, mostly malt. Taste is mildly hoppy with a clean finish.

There’s a deceptively sweet note of molasses up front, but the potent, piney hops rapidly sand that off your tongue. A nice tinge of barley asserts itself between the trees for the rest of the draft.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color is a cloudy amber. Has a good bit of draping lace. Nose has a caramel malt foundation and tropical juice sweetness of papaya, mango and pineapple. Palate is medium bodied, creamy and only light bitterness in the finish. Tastes of papaya juice, mango, earthy hops, caramel malts and finishes with a good dose of grass. A nice red ipa.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed copper-amber color with a one finger of just off white head. The head fades over a time span of about 2 min. leaving some bit of foamy lace behind on the sides of the glass.
Smell – A blend of a caramel sweetness and a good showing of a more bready nature are largest in the smell. A rather strong hop aroma is there as well with aromas of a grapefruit and slightly herbal nature being the strongest and just a hint of an earthy smell lurking in the background.
Taste – The taste begins somewhat like what may have been expected from the nose, but slightly skewed. It begins with a rather strong caramel sweetness with a smooth bready taste more so then the nose would have suggested. The hop flavors are on the other side of the skew however with them being lighter than the nose would have suggested. The hop flavors start out almost entirely of a grapefruit taste with that later being joined by some lighter grassy and pine flavors coming to the tongue. A little bit of a tangerine sweetness as well as a tiny bit of yeast taste joins the flavor at the end, leaving one with a rather sweet and moderately, but lighter than the nose would suggest, hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the sweet and bready flavors of the brew the thicker and creamier body are nice for creating a chewier feel overall, all while still managing to uphold the hop flavors of the brew and making them shine a bit as well.
Overall – A rather sweeter and somewhat lighter hopped IPA with a rather nice chewy feel. This was a rather enjoyable drinker with lots of malt bill but yet balanced some by the moderate hop.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"this second holiday offering was also full flavored, robust, and a little malty, but had a full hop compliment and was more assertive, floral, and bitter than Bi-Frost. Sorachi Ace hops lending a cool, unique character to the beer."

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is grainy with hints of tropical fruits, pine and grapefruit. Taste is a citrus and pine hop bitterness with a tropical fruit and malty sweetness. Medium body with good carbonation. A nicely done IPA that is hoppy but refreshing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear reddish copper with a foamy white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of caramel, tropical fruits, light grass, spicy hops and mango. Taste is caramel, rich pale malts intertwined with spicy hop bitterness, tropical fruits, mango, light roast flavors present and add complexity and a nice smooth bitterness on the finish. Easy well balanced red ipa that’s complex.
