3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Elysian Fields. Pours medium gold, crystal clear, with definite bubble columns rising. Moussy thick white film. Kind of a mess on the nose--butter and dust and not so much of the grass that would be so nice to find here. Mid-palate is full and lovely with lots of spice and pepper and grass. Clean and easy drinking like a pils, but has sooo much American hop across the finish--a nice, clean, lingering cling, that.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours with a golden body, topped by a thick, white head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet yet bitter and grassy with a grainy note. Light bodied, dry and crisp.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Elysian, Seattle. Gold colour with thin white head. Nice hop on aroma, bit of lager malt. Ooh that saaz flavour, I just don’t like, but it’s not stale and that crispness on the end is good. Competent, well put together. Saazy pilsener with great hop finish. Good pilsener

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
5 ounce sample on tap at Tangletown Publick House in Seattle. Citrus, perfumey, floral aroma. I also detect some slight lemon-like acidity. Doesn’t smell overly like a pils, but aroma is decent, nonetheless. Transparent golden color with a frothy whitish head and really nice lacing. Hoppy bitter start with more floral hops present. Dought and biscuity malts in the middle with a bit of lingering bitter hops to finish. Very hoppy, doesn’t really seem like a true pils to me.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap. Hazy yellow w diminishing white head. Min lace. Aroma was weak. Flavor of Urquel type pils with the minerals noticable. A bit of sweetness noticable early on but fading quickly into a nice tart bitterness that lasts into the finish. Just a touch viscous and creamy. Nice pils flavor for me. It hit the spot with a caesar salad on this hot day. If I’m in the mood for a decent pils, I will not hesitate to enjoy more.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught Golden with orange shine; very small white rim. Faint hops, I can believe Czech, and a little fresh green leaves. Malt stays discreet; Good hoppy bitterbite, no metallic nor resiny tang. Malt again is just for backing. Light MF, "crisp" enough, specially in the aftertaste. Good pilsener, goes well with some of the food in the brewpub.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer was a tad bit overly hopped. I have to agree with Per. This one has some flaws, sure, but alot of beers do, and I am not going to call it out on just a couple of complaints. Overall this is a very goo easy drinking pils, with a strong biscuity malt character. Some grassy hops, with a light to medium bodied mouthfeel. Not bad overall.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear dark golden. Sweaty fruit aroma. Dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Some raisiny grains.Generously hoppy with notes of mango and papaya. Salty, bitter finish with a metallic edge. It’s striking how many good American brewers that completely fails making a decent pilsener. Instead of even trying to achieve the desired malt character they throw in loads of hops, presumably in hope that noone notices the flaws.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2010 From the bottle 9/5/05
Pours a mid-range golden, almost clear with an amply-sized white head.
The aroma is grassy hops, a hint of lemon, and unfortunately, a swampy skunky muck. The taste is surprisingly bitter, with a blast of strong and bitter hops that, though unexpected in a pilsner, was not unpleasant. Unfortunately, the skunky murky flavor that followed was unpleasant, as is the metallic aftertaste that still remains in my mouth. As the beer warmed, the skunk got skunkier.
I’d like to like this beer, but I’ll have to try it again. This bottle just wasn’t any good. 6/3/5/3/10=2.7
Tap at Wild Ginger (the Olive Garden of Asian fusion, IMHO) in Seattle. Much, much better on tap than it was in the bottle. Entirely drinkable, enjoyable, hoppy and pretty crisp. 7/4/7/3/14 = 3.5. I’ll average them out.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Golden, light haze, moderate white head, foamy, attractive lacing with soft carbonation. Pale grassy nose, oats, subtle mustiness. Sharp grassy flavors, fairly bitter too. A fairly nice malty backside, slightly sweet, but also a touch metallic. Moderate body and mouthfeel. Somewhat bitter finish, metallic aftertaste in the back of the throat and on the sides of the tongue. Not what I was expecting for a Pilsener. Meh...
