The gentlest of the sylvan deities, embodied in the western wind which blows across the Elysian fields. Bittered with German Northern Brewer and finished with Czech Saaz hops.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear dark golden. Sweaty fruit aroma. Dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Some raisiny grains.Generously hoppy with notes of mango and papaya. Salty, bitter finish with a metallic edge. Itís striking how many good American brewers that completely fails making a decent pilsener. Instead of even trying to achieve the desired malt character they throw in loads of hops, presumably in hope that noone notices the flaws.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2010 From the bottle 9/5/05

Pours a mid-range golden, almost clear with an amply-sized white head.

The aroma is grassy hops, a hint of lemon, and unfortunately, a swampy skunky muck. The taste is surprisingly bitter, with a blast of strong and bitter hops that, though unexpected in a pilsner, was not unpleasant. Unfortunately, the skunky murky flavor that followed was unpleasant, as is the metallic aftertaste that still remains in my mouth. As the beer warmed, the skunk got skunkier.

Iíd like to like this beer, but Iíll have to try it again. This bottle just wasnít any good. 6/3/5/3/10=2.7

Tap at Wild Ginger (the Olive Garden of Asian fusion, IMHO) in Seattle. Much, much better on tap than it was in the bottle. Entirely drinkable, enjoyable, hoppy and pretty crisp. 7/4/7/3/14 = 3.5. Iíll average them out.

Bottle: Golden, light haze, moderate white head, foamy, attractive lacing with soft carbonation. † Pale grassy nose, oats, subtle mustiness. † Sharp grassy flavors, fairly bitter too. † A fairly nice malty backside, slightly sweet, but also a touch metallic. † Moderate body and mouthfeel. † Somewhat bitter finish, metallic aftertaste in the back of the throat and on the sides of the tongue. † Not what I was expecting for a Pilsener. † Meh...

Very good for the style. A very smooth german style pils.. not a lot of hops. I stll prefer the Urquell for the balanced hops, but this beer was very drinkable and had a nice unoffensive flavor. Not something to blow you away, but that is typical of the Pilsner style. A very nice selection.

Pours a goldent brown with big white head. Aroma is corn and malt, citrusy notes as well. Flavor is full of malt, and bitter. Good flavor, a little thin on the palate. Very carbonated. Thanks to Indiana Red for this tasty brew

Bottle Pours a crystal clear, very light pale gold color witha very large fluffy white head and substantial lacing. Aroma is a pleasant, slightly sweet grain, bready honey smell. Flavor is crisp, bready with some maltiness, and a not very strong hops slant. Nicely balanced. Fel is light and quick, and the trailer is a slight hoppy bite. Easy going down. Not bad, for a pils.

pours with a large, creamy head; light amber, dull, slightly hazy body, esp. for a pils; light grapefruit and grassy hop and a touch of malty sweetness in the aroma; decebt and balanced flavor: mellow, tasty, earthy and floral, nice bitter finish; moderate body.

DarkElf (3050) - La Jolla, California, USA - SEP 9, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 10, 2004 (22 oz bottle) A rather light flavored pilsener, which is surprising for a Pacific Northwest beer; Still, this is at least a dry, hops balanced pilsener in the PNW style, with a moderately bitter and dry finish; Fairly hoppy, and lightly malty nose; Light golden in color; Massively carbonated head when poured is off-white in color and very bubbly, and is supported by a fairly steady assault of carbonation bubbles, but as it gradually dies down, a large mesa-like formation is created by the head, and dense patches of lacing are left on the glass
