The gentlest of the sylvan deities, embodied in the western wind which blows across the Elysian fields. Bittered with German Northern Brewer and finished with Czech Saaz hops.

Draft at Elysian on Capitol Hill in Seattle on 7/12/07. Clear gold with a medium white head, looks like a good Pils. Grainy, grassy aroma with a hint of hoppiness. Medium body, but a touch of stickiness on the palate, not quite as clean as I like to see with a Pils. Pretty decent bitterness over a light malty base, but with some soapiness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but just a little off in flavor and mouthfeel for a Pils.

Pours a goldent brown with big white head. Aroma is corn and malt, citrusy notes as well. Flavor is full of malt, and bitter. Good flavor, a little thin on the palate. Very carbonated. Thanks to Indiana Red for this tasty brew

Pale yellow that’s mostly clear, a little white head, lots of lacing. Sweet kind of macro smell, corny, mixed with a hint of artificial grape. Thin mouthfeel and lively carbonation, somewhat astringent finish. Bitter pils flavor that’s fairly light, some distinct floral taste too. Decent for a pils.

pours with a large, creamy head; light amber, dull, slightly hazy body, esp. for a pils; light grapefruit and grassy hop and a touch of malty sweetness in the aroma; decebt and balanced flavor: mellow, tasty, earthy and floral, nice bitter finish; moderate body.

On tap at Elysian Brewhouse, Seattle. Quite interesting Pilsener, maybe a little bit too bitter...

Standard pilsner, more bitter than my bitter. Refreshing. Golden brown color with plenty of bubbles and no head. Aromas of earthy hops and a taste of floral and spicy hops that finishes bitter.

Cloudy golden color with big rocky white head. Strong floral aroma with additional hints of citrus, hops, and yeast. The flavors are an unusual citrus and yeast like. Somewhat stringent. An different sort of pilsner and just an average beer.

Gorgeous color of peach nectar--slightly hazy with wonderful cratered head that had peaks like an Alaskan ice floe. Aroma is of young fresh hops and very slight yeastiness--interesting but almost strident. This is aggressively hopped for a pilsener, but has plenty of body beneath the assertive top-end. I only wish the malt provided more of a flavor counterpoint to the prevailing bitterness. The finish is quite clean, mildly dry and with Saaz spice hints. An interesting beer with unusual characteristics for a pilsener. If the flavor balance were a bit more malt-biased, this would be a top contender.

Tap. Hazy yellow w diminishing white head. Min lace. Aroma was weak. Flavor of Urquel type pils with the minerals noticable. A bit of sweetness noticable early on but fading quickly into a nice tart bitterness that lasts into the finish. Just a touch viscous and creamy. Nice pils flavor for me. It hit the spot with a caesar salad on this hot day. If I’m in the mood for a decent pils, I will not hesitate to enjoy more.
