Countbeer (4423) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized beautiful equal snowy white foamy head on top of a clear yellow golden colored beer. Aromas of smoke, sauerkraut, hints of grains, malts but not much else. Flavour has lots of sauerkraut, some tartness, some puke, grains, asperagus, meat, light smoke, wheat, some malts, toast and herbs. Aftertaste is very light, mainly meat, with some nuts, sauerkraut and wheat. Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, low to medium bodied and a light watery texture. Could’ve done a little more on the sour side, still far from bad...

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear golden colour, white head. No yeast at all. Aroma of burnt rubber, grain, play-doh, hint of smoke. Flavour is burnt rubber, clay, sour wheat, grain, just bad IMHO. Shame these two great breweries came up with this concoction. Luckily they have plenty of great beers to make up for it.

Bottle @ home. Pours a clear gold beer with a white head, leaves a thin layer. A: smells like bacon crisps, vegetables (asparagus?) very peculiar. T: moderate tartness. M: lacks carbonation, thin mouthfeel. Interesting beer, though the aroma and carbonation are disappointing.

Bottle 330 ml at home, into a tulip glass. ABV 4% Pale orange in colour, just a tad hazy but mostly clear. One finger of white head, with good density and average retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of sour wheat, floral and herbal notes, quite weak. Taste is of wheat, a bit sour and salty too, a bit of citrus acidity, smoke. Thin bodied, okay carbonation. A bit weird and not on par with other beers of the style I had, would probably pass if offered again.

Straw with small white head. Ash, bonfire, smoked tofu, grassy, light citrus, lightly acidic. Taste is bitter from the smoke, with a lot of sour. Light bodied, slick texture. All over the place, lots of extremes together in one bottle. Interesting combination of smoked and sour flavours, but I’ll never drink this again.

Smoked salami. Does it stink, don’t really know! Tastes a lot better than it smells. Also thicker than expected. Have a craving for sausage now. Really interesting beer, but not one I would drink every day. Bottle from Berts Bierhuis in Utrecht.

Bottle @ tasting, shared by deanso. Pours a clear golden beer with a big, fluffy white head on top. Aroma is grainy with touches of sour fruits and lemon zest. Flavor has some sourness going on, dry sour fruits and has a slight watery body. Short, light sour aftertaste. Meh,

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear light straw colour with a thin frothy white head. The aroma is light yeast malt. The flavour is light sour with a watery acid citrus palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Not one of the better beers to have come out of either brewery I have to say.

33cl bottle shared from ABCBeers. Thick creamy white head. Hazy straw blond pour. Some smoke. Well done but not really my type of beer.

33cl bottle. Thx Joris for sharing. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small stable white head. NOSE: pepeprs, little hop, some wood, smoked. TASTE: smoked, little fruity, herbs. Smoked-like beers are still not my thing.
