2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330 ml bottle.
Pours an unclear, dirty copper colour with a patchy white head. Aroma of raisins and glue. Flavour of caramel malts, alcohol, something burnt, raisins and more alcohol. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel and a dry, alcohol finish. Disappointing.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled (from Alko, Vaasa). Rubyish amber colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, toffee, quite sweet alcohol as some very sweet fruity and floral hops. Flavour is sweet malts, some alcohol, fruity and floral hops, mild toffee and also some rather grassy hops towards the finish. Quite much burning alcohol and riped fruits in the aftertaste.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Orange-amber beer and minimal head. Aroma has fruits (plums) and grassy hops. In the back it has some wood and malts. Fairly full of flavour with sweets and sticky body. The aftertaste reveals yeast and a pleasant bitterness. Alcohol is very heavy. Interesting style and beer but not necessarily brilliant. (2,95 EUR, 33cl bottle)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Battersea Beer Festival on 10 February 2011 - thanks to Simon for a taste. Amber colour. Quite fruity aroma - some volatile estery notes. Rich and fruity on the palate - prunes or stewed plums. Distinctly sweet. Hops are a bit sticky. Warming alcohol, maybe a bit hot. Tasty, although I failed to identify it as a Barley Wine immediately when offered it blind.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
10.xx oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour is burnt orange with 3 fingers of large bubbled yellowish head; it quickly dissipated and left mere pitter-patters on the glass. Nose is caramel, citrus, barley, malt, and a touch of candied sugar. Taste is bitter caramel up front that is followed by a blanket of citrus, which isnít too hoppy, to comprise the finish. I had my hopes set a bit higher for this one, though it is a very solid but simple barely wine, so I was a touch disappointed.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark amber, small head. Aroma has malts, alcohol and some herbs like clove. Speculaas-like. Taste is alcohol, fizzling, bitter because of the abv? Somewhat sweetish in the finish.
