11.16 oz bottle served in a snifter. Poured a hazy amber with a quickly dissipating head. Bottle conditioned. Lots of malt in aroma, caramel. Very sweet, not much hop bitterness to balance. Medium to full bodied. Not much carbonation. Didn’t do much for me.

11.1oz. bottle. Sweet, malty aroma, plenty of caramel and brown sugar tinged with madeira and dried fruit, a faint tobacco note in the background here as well. Only a slight hiss when opening this. Deep, dark amber in color, plenty of sediment which was left behind in the bottle, and a head that quickly fades away to nothing. Flavor profile is richly sugary and malty, more caramel and brown sugar to be found throughout, a very faint peppery alcoholic tone appearing late. No carbonation to speak of, palate is lightly syrupy, thick and warming, body is undoubtedly full. A tad one-dimensional, but not without merit.

English-style barley wine with English yeast and English hops. Thin, off-white head, cloudy bronze colour. Aroma of dried fruits, caramel, port wine, cloves, cognac, spicy hops. Taste again dried fruits, spicy, smooth, sweetish caramel malts, citrus accent, finishing in warming brandy-like alcohol. This is my kind of beer, though I did have more complex barley wines.

Bottle pour. A lot of bread and caramel flavor. Aroma is a fruit, and a little boozy. This beer is very mild for a 10%. I was very surprised. Finishes a little boozy, but it’s not intense by any means. A little malty finish as well. Not too bad.

Bottle, courtesy of deanso. 2010 vintage Pours a clear amber beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma is mostly red fruits, madeira and port wine. Flavor is very sweet, alcoholic and has slight touches of madeira. Boozy aftertaste, aged quite well. Very nice beer!

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy medium to dark amber with a thin off white head. The aroma is weak malt with some boozy alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a liqouce alcohol palate. Medium to full bodied with light carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel and a long bitter finish.
