Flaske delt med Asle Bjørn og Sigmund: deilig mørk aroma med lakris, solbær og et hint av røyk (eller er det naboens grill?). Stor smaksfylde men allikevel særdeles lettdrikkellig, noe som antakelig skyldes den fine humlebalansen.

330 ml shared bottle from Vika. Clear deep ruby with a light brown rim. Malty dark syrup, dates and raisins with wooden, light smokey notes on the nose. Full bodied, malty roasted raisins and raw liquorice. Smooth, with a lingering pleasant bitterness.

Bouteille de 33cl. Meilleure avant une coche qu’on ne voit pas. Bière brune foncée avec une belle tête de mousse brune crémeuse et durable. Premier nez houblonné avec des notes fruitées en sourdine. De l’alcool se pointe le nez. Un eu de chocolat en bouche, des notes grillées. La finale est quelque peu désagréable avec des houblons amers (60 IBU bien comptés) discordants. Correct.

Znakomite mocno palone ciemne jak smola IPA. O sporej i ukrytej mocy. Paloność goryczka wszystko to zdublowane. Bardzo wytrawny finisz i pozostawiajacy posmak slodu palonego i w oddali mocne nuty chmielne. Klasyk gatunku, piwo dla koneserow i raczej nie dla zlopiacych jasne, ujednolicone lagery. Polecam, szczegolnie dla twardzieli.

Bottled, 330ml from Stirchley Wines & Spirits, Birmingham. Deep brown with beige head. There is a dry bitterness from the off with this beer in amongst richly roasted chocolate malts. There is a powderiness to the mouthfeel with a thick palate. The flavour is liquorice along with a pineapple like fruitiness. Lasting and really very good.

0,33l bottle from Sörmanufaktúra, Budapest. Clear, dakr brown colod with creamy light brown head. Hoppy flavour like resin, grass and herbs. Beside that chocolate, coffee and roasted malt also appears. Medium bitter taste. Creamy texture, medium body, light carbonation. Intensive dry and bitter finish. Very nice beer, when I image a Black IPA, I image a beer like this. Well balanced, bitter enough, esspecially in the aftertaste. These hops are good choises. This hoppy flavour goes well with roasted malty flavour.

33 cl. Une bière brune qui montre certains sédiments. Une tête beige foncée qui fond rapidement. Un nez qui présente des notes de pain rôti, de caramel, de houblons terreux et de fruits qui ne sont pas seulement citriques. Un goût marqué, si cela peut faire du sens, par une amertume presque éthylique. Dans ces notes forcées, une impression maltée de chocolat noir. En bouche, un corps vraisemblablement huileux et passablement fort. Je soupçonne l’avoine ou autre chose qui m’échappe. Les bulles sont très lasses et cela ne pose aucun problème. La finale est une longue litanie de notes amères, vertes et résineuses. Une BIPA sans doute un peu trop lourde.

beige coffee coloured head that disappears quickly with lacing. coffee coloured. aroma of hop, passion fruit, roasted malts, alcoholic and also something of sulfur. after a while the fruity aroma fades completely. tastes sweet, passion fruit, roasted malts with a long strong liquorice taste and bitterness. medium carbonation and body. bottle 33 cl

33cl bottle from De Bierkoning in Amsterdam. Pours a cloudy, deep brown, almost black colored body with a finger-width, frothy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is sweeter, bready caramels and toffees with some roasts, juicier oranges and grapefruits with a few pine resins, some dark fruits, and touches of licorice. Flavor is similar. Fairly malty sweet with lots of caramels and toffee bread, but pretty bitter throughout. Dry, earthy pines with some roast as well as citrus, some dark fruits, and a few esters. Finishes dry, roasty, and pretty bitter with a good amount of citrus before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent Black IPA. Fairly malty sweet, but pretty bitter and citrusy as well. Not bad.
