Lite skum. God lukt av sjokolade, kaffe og krydder. Herlig smak av sjokolade, kaffe. Liten røykt ettersmak. Godt.

Bought this at the local shop and poured it into some glassware (chalice). There’s a thick, thick head that hugs the glass. Nice and foamy with a solid black body. You can see some sediment inside and there’s a nice aroma of roasted bean. Consequently, the first taste is of charred coffee stout with an IPA hop finish. It’s long-lasting and balanced with an aftertaste of malt and alcohol. Overall, this is the perfect marriage between a light Stout and IPA. A very, very good beer, surprisingly drinkable and smooth for 8%. Emelisse Brewery gets it correct.

33cl bottle at Probus Wines, Dublin. Dark mahogany pour, thin tan head. Pine resin, chocolate and dark roast coffee in the aroma, some herbs too - not too potent in terms of hoppiness. Herbs and pine come through more in the taste, but the darker flavours dominate - plenty of dark roasted coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Some light citrus in there, but it gets swallowed up quickly. Bitterness is on the herbal side - a little rough. Quite easy drinking for 8%. Not bad, but for the price there’s a whole host of better BIPAs out there.

Bottle, 33 cl . Brownish black with a dense beige head, good retention, nice lace. Hard roasted dark bready nose with notes of licorice and chocolate. Quite some herbal hoppiness too. Flavor of hard roast, bitter chocolate and coffee leading to a rather roasted and herbal hoppy bitter finish. Not fab, but better than any other offering from Emelisse, I’ve had so far.

330 ml shared bottle from Vika. Clear deep ruby with a light brown rim. Malty dark syrup, dates and raisins with wooden, light smokey notes on the nose. Full bodied, malty roasted raisins and raw liquorice. Smooth, with a lingering pleasant bitterness.

Correct.

Znakomite mocno palone ciemne jak smola IPA. O sporej i ukrytej mocy. Paloność goryczka wszystko to zdublowane.

Bottled, 330ml from Stirchley Wines & Spirits, Birmingham. Deep brown with beige head. There is a dry bitterness from the off with this beer in amongst richly roasted chocolate malts. There is a powderiness to the mouthfeel with a thick palate. The flavour is liquorice along with a pineapple like fruitiness. Lasting and really very good.

0,33l bottle from Sörmanufaktúra, Budapest. Clear, dakr brown colod with creamy light brown head. Hoppy flavour like resin, grass and herbs. Beside that chocolate, coffee and roasted malt also appears. Medium bitter taste. Creamy texture, medium body, light carbonation. Intensive dry and bitter finish. Very nice beer, when I image a Black IPA, I image a beer like this. Well balanced, bitter enough, esspecially in the aftertaste. These hops are good choises. This hoppy flavour goes well with roasted malty flavour.
