Small beige head. Clear barely translucent deep dark brown body with light carbonation. Roasty earthy chocolatey aroma with toffee notes. Dry-sweet roasty chocolatey soy sauce taste with earthy licorice and toffee notes. Full-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish earthy roasty burnt grain aftertaste with perfumy chocolatey soy sauce notes. Black IPA? More like a really good imperial stout. Whatever, itís a very good beer anyway. Clean, clear, and vivid. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika.)

Bottle. Black. Dark chocolate, piney-, slight earthy, hops, and good malts. Pretty good aroma, feels very well balanced, inviting. Body is super smooth and surprisingly thick. But well bittered, with an excellent chocolate, roasty hoppy palate. Quite an excellent BIPA. Great body, harmonous flavours.

This *is* a bottle that surpised me with its presence while making room in the fermentation fridge, and as Iím having problems comprehending the logic of the BBE markings, thereís a good possibility of this being old, and thus short on the nose. But even so, a really good brew.

Clear, very dark brown body with a red tint. The creamy head is light-brown, long-lived and laces the glass very well. The aroma is moderate to faint and definitely on the malty side, with roasted notes of coffee and only some very vague hints of hops. This is not how I want my BIPAs to smell, but still itís a pleasant aroma. The taste is light to moderate sweet and the finish is moderate to heavy bitter, the bitterness is very long-lasting. The flavours are not strong, but quite nice, although not especially well balanced: also the flavours are highly skewed towards the black with roasted notes and coffee. In the back there are faint fruity hints and the bitterness feels floral or herbal. Medium body, dry to oily texture, soft to moderate carbonation. An simple and good beer, but the hops have obviously been used mostly for bitterness, it lacks lots of aroma and flavouring hops to be a successful and complex BIPA, IMHO.

Buonissima black ipa con un amaro intenso che bene si sposa con un corpo robusto.

Bottles and draft in NL, pours darker brown with medium sized off white head. Pretty good lacing. Aroma is very impressive: lots of citrus hops, chocolate, roasted malt, and grapefruit. Flavor is much of the same with a medium to full body and carbonation. Nice.

Tap. Dark pour (though bar was too dark to show details) with a nice thick head. Fruit, tar, lead, pine, caramel. Nice carbonation followed by light to medium body and bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
