19/10/2011 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 06/2013 (2011-567)

Clear dark brown beer, aery light beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: dried fruits, bit of disinfectant (alcohol?), bit dusty, some exotic fruits (pineapple), sugary, dried orange peel. MF: soft to no carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: some citrus in the beginning, mocha and coffee touches, pretty bitter hops. Aftertaste: coffee and citrus fruits, dry hoppy ending.

ads135 (3154) - Lawrence, Kansas, USA - OCT 21, 2011
UPDATED: APR 9, 2012 Almost no aroma that I can discern. This is made up for in taste, however, with its hops and slightly burned tasting malts complimenting one another. Tried again with Dave at the brewery in April, 2012.

espenra (892) - Kurland, NORWAY - OCT 16, 2011
33cl bottle. 8%. Black colour with a faint red hue. Small to no head. Aroma is faint and the hops is very well hidden. Some notes of coffee, toffee and charcoal. Missing the hops. Flavour is bitter and the hops is present. A bit weird blend of hops, roasted malts, coffee, floral notes and fruits. Short aftertaste.

Ober (2812) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - OCT 13, 2011
A brown/black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of dark fruits, with hop bitter, hints of chocolate. The taste of bitter hops, dark fruits. It moves from sweet to dry bitter. The aftertaste is bitter with some sweet.

Martinus (3171) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - OCT 12, 2011
Black beer with red hue and tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, lots of liquorice. Flavour rather sweet, slight salty tone, burned malts and hops bitterness. Malts seem to dominate, leaving little room for the hop aroma’s to develop. First black IPA I ever tasted. Not quite as complex as I imagined, still rather nice brew.

Draught @ Borefts 2011. Dark ruby color and a tan head. Caughsyrup, licorice, caramel, dirt and plenty of hops. Medium dense and carbonated. Not too complex, but Okay.

Bottle @ BBF2011. Black pour, thin tan head. Aroma is slightly roasty, chocolate and some floral hops. Flavor is quite bitter, roasted, chocolate and some hops. Not much like an IPA, but nice.

From bottle @ BBF 2011. Almost black and opague. Roast, caramel and ash in the aroma. Malty sweet, ashy flavor with a firm floral and grassy bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. Well balanced.
