Medium, tan head, slowly reduced to rim over black-brown beer. Velvety, chocolaty nose, with wafts of wet moss, and something akin to shrimps. Very roasted, hops arising in the finish. Very roasted taste, charcoal, sweet-bitter. Again just a glimpse of the hops, mainly retronasal; leafy. Hops strengthening, however, with mounting temperature, C-hops. Velvety, creamy MF despite some good carbonation; medium bodied. Nice, if not outright spectacular.

Flaske 0,25l. Sjokolade i avslutningen.

Botled. Pours deep, dark brown with a nice off-white head. Nose of coffee, citrus, roasted malts and smokey notes. Sweet flavor with roast, citrus fruits, coffee, chocolate and ashy notes. Medium bodied, slick feel and soft carbonation. Ends up with a decent bitterness. A well brewed Black IPA.

Black with slightly colored foam head, lacing to glass. Smells like burnt caramel, tastes nice bitter with some sweet caramel in background. Long dry bitter taste. (Bruinisse 201205)

Black colour with a beige head. Sweet nose with some roasted malt. Coffee and sweet chocolate flavour. Missed some more hoppy flavor when it is called a BIPA.

Very dark brown with a fluffy tan head. Nice contrast of roast from malts and acidity from the hops. Coffee, turpentine, faintly metallic but not overwhelmingly so.

Bottle, Chester Beer and Wine. Deep dark brown pour with a fast fading tan head. Prominent roast in the nose and flavour. Rather smothered hop casts doubt on its claim to be a black IPA. Bit disappointing.
