Bottle. Pours a dark, hazy brown colour with an one finger tanned head. Aroma of coffee, roast, grapefruit, pines, resin and hops. Flavour has a lot of sweetness to it, I expected or hoped for some more whisky, but it wasn’t there. Still a really good beer. Maybe it’s better that it had not that much whisky notes. It’s nicely located on the background.. very good beer.

Bottle. An unclear one, dark brown in color and with a finger-thick dark beige head. Peated, caramel malty aroma with a nice hoppyness in the back. Lots of beefstock in the flavor at first, then the peat kicks in, and there’s also a nice hoppy bitterness. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Bitter finish with something chemical I don’t really remember what is. Well, it’s a nice beer anyway. 110916

33cl bottle from Emelisse biershop. A 2xIPA? not sure. A hopped up British style brown maybe. Cuivrée, col beige léger laissant un léger filament doré au verre. Arôme est léger en barrique, malt caramel avec ce profile de Bowmore tourbe assez agréable et une pointe de levure. En bouche, profile gardant la lignée des Islay; tourbe et cendre avec une touche de torréfié et malt amer, pâle, caramel suivi d’un léger houblon dont les notes américaines rajoutent un côté agrumes fruité. La fin de bouche est sèche, tourbe, pointe de levure et un alcool réchauffant. Au final, la barrique reste en retrait, le tout étant facile à déguster.

Hazy reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, roasted malt, light whisky and rather hoppy. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 060312

Bottle. very dark amber with medium tan beige head. Aroma is malt, hops, peat and caramel. Flavour is roasted malts, caramel, fruit, peat, hops, little citrus, dark fruits, medium sweet and medium bitter.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, coffee, licorice, rich hops, whisky and fruits. Smooth and dry.

Bottle.. dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is whiskey, oak, vanilla. Flavour is whiskey, oak, vanilla, hop, malt. Hoppy and oaky finish. Nice beer.

Dark brown with lasting beige head. Roasted malts and coffe bitterness dominate the aroma and taste. Full-bodied beer with medium carbonation. Unfortunately there’s not much Bowmore to be found in the taste. Little more complexitiy would improve this beer.

Emelisse again shows to be the second best brewer in the country with this great beer. Wonderful smooth palate that ends in a deep coffeeground flavor. Almost fatty in the end. Even has some red fruit in the top of mouth. Fairly amazing. Bottle from the De Molen store, bougth at the Borefts Beer Festival.

Pours brown with a slightly beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, solvent, nutty, smoked and peach.Flavor is sweet and roasted with some smoke and alcohol.Medium body, average carbonation.
