3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33 cl bottle @ home (no indication as to what barrel was used). Very dark color. Small beige head, with a thin layer retention. Aroma’s: peat, lots of iodine, medicinal, some roast. Flavor is moderate to full sweet with a fairly strong bitterness. Alcohol feel is not too strong. Carbonation is quite low, giving this a soft, velvetty mouthfeel. Long finish with iodinde, earthy bitterness and ash. Harsh flavors, but they somehow blend very well.

shared 33cl bottle. poured a dark brown colour with a beige head. caramel, smoke, chocolate, taste is almost completely dominated by the peated whisky. I gave it a shot but i just can’t like the peated beers. it’s like drinking a bottle of iodine

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amazing beer. Strong RIS, yet it is quite hoppy. The subtle Isley notes give the beer extra depth.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black colour, cream head. Aroma of whisky, ash, peat, hops, coffee, chocolate, Islay. Quite bitter flavour, coffee, roasted malts, Islay whisky, peat, ash, cacao, hops notes. Finish liquorice, roasted malts, ash, peat. Great brew, the Islay barrel aging really gives it a great finish. This beer makes me happy.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep dark brown with a faint red tint when tilted with a thick, lacy, tan, head that settles to a nice thin frothy film. Smells of peat, roasted malt, lots of liquorish, iodine or ammonia, chocolate, mocha and burnt wood. A bit medicinal. Full oily body with soft carbonation. Tastes of sweet berries and deep malt at the start and finishes with a burnt, peat, smoky, earthy, roasted finish. Like the smell, the taste hits of a medicinal quality that is sort of in competition with a peat whiskey taste. You can feel the barrel agedness of the peated whiskey come out. Strange I can’t really taste much of the TIPA.
