Golden orange, medium persistent head, little lacing. Hoppy and herbal aroma but not so hoppy taste, actually very balanced. Volatile at the end. Good Beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from beernavigator. Pours amber, clear, medium high head. Not very hoppy on the nose but as it warms up it grows. West coast, pine, red grape fruit, peach and mango. Swett caramell maltbody, pine, peach and mango. Little bitterness, clean flavours. Well made but not exceptional. A nit to sweet for my taste.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml long neck bottle, poured into a tulip glass at home. ABV 6,8%
Deep orange colour, with a clear transparent body and two full fingers of slighty off-white foam. Very good retention and nice lacing left around the glass.
Fantastic aroma, very hoppy, with pine notes, lots of resin and also some light grapefruit.
Taste is slighty bitter, becomes much more bitter on the aftertaste after the hops kick in.
Medium thickness on the body, good carbonation and fairly dry on the palate.
Overall a very good IPA, one of the best dutch IPAs Iíve had so far.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Emelisse Tripel? Itís a tripel. Emelisse Dubbel? Itís a dubbel. Emelisse Double IPA? Itís a double IPA. See, itís really not that hard. So why on earth name an IPA Emelisse Blond? I must admit that I was fooled for some time: the huge, creamy, off-white head that formed in my Belgian blond glass really made the beer look like a Belgian blond. The body doesnít have a very blond colour, itís medium amber and very hazy. The head collapses quite fast and leaves just a partially covering film. Good lacing from the initial head, though. The aroma is moderate and quite hoppy. From my tasting notes, while I still thought that this was supposed to be a blond: "Smells more like an IPA than a blond, very little Belgian yeast". I get citrus, peach, grape and green apple. The taste is light to moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. The flavours are a bit faint, but there are some nice fruity notes with peach and citrus. Also pine and resin, and unfortunately some quite stinging alcohol notes. The mouthfeel is quite crisp, but the alcohol bite doesnít make it that drinkable. Medium body, moderate to soft carbonation, light to moderate dry finish. An ok IPA, but far too faint to be really interesting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared with Veitafan. Has a bit cloudy orange colour with a off-white head. Nice. Fruity and spicy aroma with blood orange and Belgian yeast. Light and nice. Fruity hops in the flavour along with tropical fruits and some sweet berries, and has a dry ending. Slick mouth feel, and has a medium bitterness. Fresh and good and balanced. Nice aroma. The taste is more like a pale ale.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle, Dutch sampler - Have to agree with the description here: immediately apparent is the "soft & malty" part: amber biscuit malt profile, heavier, aromatic and cloudy Belgian ale-type yeast and ?single hops, ideally working in accord to produce a truly fulfilling and unusual EU-I/PA. Green apple, ripe kiwi, citrus zest and sweetish biscuit malts make this a subtle and deliciously non-sweet liquid sour apple pie relish of a beer. Couldnít have made out the Cascade, to be honest. Bold in all its subtlety.

Eccezzionale bionda di casa emelisse, con un amaro deciso ed intenso che in retrogusto fa emergere le sue note quasi erbacee.
