3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate and caramel, some light roasted malts, a light lactose sweetness maybe?, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not really enjoyable because it’s too sweet.

Geroosterd, hoestsnoepje, bubblegum, caramel, are soms tastes to find in thuis innovation series Emelisse. Lakes (bitter) hops which makes the burned and zweet after taste a bit top much fort my liking.
Pours nice and black and smells a lot like caramel sweets. I really like what they try to achieve, but I find it a bit off balance to make it a very good beer.

Nu ik geen fan ben van stoutbieten wilde ik deze variant wel eens proberen. De smaak aan de voorkant is best lekker maar de nasmaak is echt heel vies en blijft heel lang hangen.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a very dark oily brown with a light tan head leaving a little bit of lacing. Aroma of vanilla and a little chocolate. Tastes delicious, like a creme brulee, vanilla is strong with a light malt flavor, slight chocolate and toffee notes. Absolutely fantastic.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle. BBE 12/2015.
Pours black color with a medium sized beige head. Very nice sweet chocolaty aroma, some faint vanilla sugar, cocoa powder, caramel and distant maple syrup. Flavor of pudding, milky chocolate, slightly toasted caramel malts and vanilla. Soft carbonation, medium to full-bodied, lingering chocolaty aftertaste. The flavor is just what the aroma promises. Maybe with a little softer/smoother palate this would be excellent. A sugary dessert delight.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown with brown lacing foam head. Aroma is creme brule sweet, not a hint of bitterness, coffee. Taste is just the opposite. Starts of little sweet, but changing to bitter coffee quite quickly and long aftertaste. Interesting beer. (Velp 201406)

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
As expected, pours an opaque darkest of dark browns, but with smaller and less persistent head than expected. Smells immediately of strong butterscotch, toffee, caramel and vanilla. To be honest, it smells overly sweet. The taste is immediately creamy, creme brulee (funnily enough), butterscotch, vanilla, with a long dry, slightly metallic hop bitterness to cut through what would otherwise be cloying sweetness. Certainly tastes more balanced than the aroma would suggest. Fairly full bodied, leaving a nice oily coating in the mouth that prolongs the aftertaste. Overall, quite enjoyable and one that I’d certainly try again.
