Emelisse (nl) Double ipa.

(Bottle claims 11% abv) Dark amber/cider color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of sweet malt, toffee, some fruit, & hops; Flavor of sweet malt, caramel/toffee, hops, fruit, and citrus; Finish is slightly bitter; Overall, more of a barleywine - taste is somewhat muddled.

Draft at Monks. Hazy orange amber pour. Off-white foam that leftsome runny lace. High IBUs. Dry finish but a lot of honey up front. Well blended. Feels a bit like a mild barleywine. Not a bad thing.

Poured from draft at Local Option. Very cloudy orange pour with white bubbles lacing rim. Dense fruit aroma and can smell the booze. Love the taste. Bananna, orange, grapefruit, slight bitter and hops - just good

Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Pours reddish amber colored with small head. Smells hoppy-fruity, oily and slight alcoholic. Starts with flat carbonation. Aroma is fruity-hoppy, with lots of resin and pine woods. Middle part is creamy and fruity with lots of pine woods and some caramel. Goes into a bitter-dry hoppy finish with some fruits and lots of pine wood!

Agressively poured this bottle of beer and still only a slight dense smooth head which only lasted a bit but left a film for most of the rest of the beer. A dark amber in color smells like you’d expect, piney hops and cittrus with a bit of spice which I assume was from the yeast. Tastes a lot like it smells but a bit subdued. Heavier on the pine and lighter on the citrus than I expected. Still a bit of additional spice as well. Very smooth but seemed to lack Carbonation. Not flat just flatter than usual. i did not mind this so much as I love naturally carbonated cask ale, and that was what the mouthfeel was liike. I could easily drink a couple of these but generally I always find IPAs to be less drinkable as they overpower my taste buds a bit.
