330ml bottle picked up at Alko Arkadia. Cloudy, apricot coloured body. Ring of bubbles, fragile lacework. Smell of sappy hops. Succulent oranges in flavour supported by grapefruits and pine, and offset by honey sweetness. Rather heavy, bittersweet ending, long-lived. Pleasant IPA (hotel room, Helsinki 06.02.2011).

Tap at RNH. Deep amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is kind of odd. Sweet and toasty with a lot of cooked/caramelized wort flavour. A bit of soft chewiness on the palate. Earthy hoppiness but a really sweet brew in the back. Maillard character - it’s a very odd duck. It’s not really bad - but it’s not what I was expecting. Well-hopped, but no IIPA.

Hazy orange colour. Thin bubbly head. Hoppy aroma, some lemon, apricot and fresh grass. Light in resins. Some currant leaves and harsh vegetables. Slightly yeasty. Sweet caramel, medium sweetness. Not particularly malty. Some sourness in the finish. Not bitter enough to be true DIPA. Rather short and harsh finish. Low carbonation, oily texture. Slightly flat.

Bottle. Amber, cloudy, very small and fully diminishing head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some bread and light fruitiness, grassy – light citrus hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor with fruitiness, citrus hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish and fruity, citrus – grapefruit hoppyness. OK IPA, malty bread in the aroma is bit odd for IPA, could use more hoppyness.

330 ml bottle. Hazy amber colour, thin white head that quickly retreats to the edges of the glass. The aroma is caramel-malty, with a variety of fruits and a nice dose of hops. The flavour begins sweetish fruity, but strong hoppy bitterness soon takes over. The carbonation is a little too flat and the flavour is not quite balanced.

Bottle. A murky brownish color with a laced tan head. A caramel and malty flavor with a relatively sweet hoppy finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours hazy brown with whitish head. Aroma is fruits, hops and toffee. Flavour is somewhat bittersweet. Grapefruit also comes to mind.

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2010
Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dusty bronze with orange tints, minimal condition and a head that doesn’t cover the beer. Great hops on the snout; peach, papaya, silvery haired green stems, dishcloth, Tropical Starburst..all dabbed with honey. Flavour doesn’t live up to that come-on-and-drink-me exoticism; honey and lemon throat sweets, alcohol heat, earthy yeast. Decent flowery, pine and orange presence as it warms, but definitely not an IPA I’ll be rushing back to.

From Beers of Europe. Faint caramel in an otherwise fruity aroma, hazy amber on the pour, with a lively, well-retained head. Lovely fresh mouthfeel, good carbonation, big grassy hop resin and citrusy, with the caramel aroma following through to the aftertaste. Very little in the way of yeasty flavours and, in agreement with a previous rater, this excellent beer comes acrsoss a bit underrated.

330 ml bottle.
Pours an unclear amber colour with a lacy, small, edgy head. Aroma of mild hops and hay. Flavour of strong bitter hops, alcohol and some fruits. Medium bodied, strong bitter dry finish. Very straightforward.
