Bottled. Hazy ambery brown colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, dark dry fruits, mild yeast as well as some wooden notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some quite bready notes. Also a mild touch of nuttyness.

Cask gravity at St Albans BF 09. Fruity malty, bit OXO cubey. Bit odd. But interesting. Malts get better as the beer warms up.

Bottled St Albans BF 09. A dark brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The aroma has chocolate, fruit and fizzy alcohol, together with licorice and leather. The taste has bready malts mixed with the pretty heavy carbonation More chocolate and bread. Got better as it waremd but it was an over heavy beer..

(Bottled) Very hazy darkish amber with a small, partly lasting head. Aroma of sulphur, mildly roasted malt, hints of metal. Flavor is mildly roasty with lots of berries, some acidity, no bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. The bottled version was not in a very good shape, so I’ll give the points as average of draught and bottled versions. It’s quite strange how the bottled Dubbel and Wit were so much inferior compared to the draught ones.

A Mes rate: bottle at Harpenden Beer Festival.
Deep dark amber with a thin off white film. Big cheesy funky stuff. Lots of excellent dark malt. Plenty of bite. A very good dubbel. Incidentally, the label read 6.5% not 7.

Bottle 30 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Perfumy coriander nose. Quite full-bodied with sweetish dried fruit, licorice and coriander. Dried fruit and a somewhat heavy carbonation. Dry and bitter finish. 200309
