The beer has a nice dark brown color with a orange glow. The beer pours a thick layer of foam, which disappears quickly. There isn’t much foam remaining on top of the beer. The beer doesn’t have a very strong aroma. There is a little sweet aroma of alcohol, just strong enough to be nice and not be overwhelming. There is also a nice roasted barley aroma. This roasted barley forms the link between the aroma’s in the smell and the taste. The taste is sublime. It has this bitter dark chocolate flavor of roasted barley. There is also a little sweetness of alcohol, really nice to balance the bitter roast. The beer has everything. Bitternes, sweetness, a little sour, very good.

28/08/2011 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 9/6/12 (2011-412)

Little cloudy red brown to purple beer, beige creamy head, pretty stable, somewhat adhesive. Aroma: fruity, caramel, dried fruits, sweet cherries, chocolate milk, strong alcohol, raisings, bit vinous even, wood. MF: little carbon, very thick creamy texture, medium body. Taste: roasted malts, mocha, bit of caramel, fruity, touch of banana, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: citric acidity, alcohol playing on the tongue, more caramel, dry bitter ending. Spot on! This beer combines the typical caramel sweetness and dried fruits which are key for a dubbel, but also keeps it interesting enough through the sour and bitter hops.

small offwhite frothy head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. muddy thick dark reddish-brown body. aroma: moderate malty, caramel, dark chocolate, mild coffee, raisin. if: heavy sweet. ff: heavy sweet light acidic bitter; long duration. palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish.

Roodbruin biermet witte schuimkraag.

330 ml bottle. Aroma with loads of plum, apricot, alcohol. Taste reminding more of plum wine than beer, a bit tangy and alcohol. Nice beer
