Draught. Unclear golden in color with a foamy head. Green herbs, nettles and citrus fruits at first in aroma, tea vibe alright here as well. Feels quite fresh though. Dry mouthfeel. Citrus, tea, bit herbal and fruity notes in taste. Bitter finish with spicy tea leafs and floral notes.

Bottle from Lekker Bier, BB 06 2015, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Clear orange color with some debris, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of earl grey, flowery and citrussy, slight biscuity malt, bit soapy as well. Soft to medium bitterness in taste, slight cookie and biscuity sweetness. Finish is a bit dry and slight sharpish in alcohol. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Ipa bitterness versus a teabagthatstayedintheteatoolong bitterness. It works right up to the aftertaste. Bottle from the Lekkerbierwinkel in Joure

Draught @ Black Door Aroma has quite obvious earl grey tones. Also hints of apricot. Flavour is a bit odd with some fruity hops. Finishes with growing tea tones. Aroma was promising but it seems that earl grey does not mix well with IPA on the flavour side; feels a bit musty and messy. Not bad still.

0,4 hana@ Kaunis Kampela. Sameahko, toffeen ruskea. Tuoksussa sitrusta, humalaa.

0,5l on tap @ Kaunis Kampela. Pours hazy golden with a low creamy head. Aroma is malts, spices and black tea. Flavor is malts, black tea, black pepper, some lemon and hops. I don’t know if they used tea in this or not, but at least it tastes like they did. Great.

(Keg at Leijuva Lahna, 20140906) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had tea, bergamot, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, tea, bergamot, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had tea, hoppiness and bitter. An interesting experiment but not my thing.

Tap@ahven. Hazy orange. Citrus, caramels on nose, and a sort of dark light perfumy leafyness (not in a bad way, just sort of spicy). Soft smooth body. Oranges, caramel and yes, a very strong clear earl gray. Like *really* strong, just like sniffing a can of kusmi’s anastasia. This is interesting. I thought the collab-earlgray they made prior to this was pretty ordinary, lightly spiced. But this is really heavily earl gray-y, which is probably amplified as it is super fresh. And the combination (earl gray/hops) isn’t even that bad. The body is great, and this flavouring isn’t total shit (some might even take it for really peppery hops), so pretty good overall. Best thing on tap I’ve had in a while.
