33 cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured black with a two finger tan head. Aroma: roasted espresso beans, licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, toffee. Taste: loads and loads of roasted espresso beans. salty licorice, dark chocolate, black currants, dark fruit, vanilla, raisin bread, toffee, haagse hopjes (dutch caramel/coffee treat). Medium to full body with a long roasted, bittersweet finish. Roasted espresso dominance in this imperial stout. Good brew, one of the best beers I’ve tasted with coffee being used in the brewing process.

It’s great to taste a coffee stout where one can clearly taste the coffee character. Just like the real thing but sweeter. Pronounced length of roast flavour and indeed a spice like character on the nose. I think this is a touch under 10% but there is almost a feather touch to this beer. Might be the best coffee infused beer I have tasted.

Bottle from 16th Street Liquor store. Pours an opaque dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is leather, some chocolate notes. Oxidized? The same character taste with grassy and roasted malt bitterness. Slightly boozy. Bready, roasted malt bitterness aftertaste. Coffee is almost disappeared, unfortunately, it didn’t age well as De Molen Kopi Loewak. Needs to be reviewed when it is fresh.

Aroma: lots of coffee but very roasty and sweet; Appearance: pitch black with thin tan head that dissipates fairly quickly; Taste: follows nose; smooth, boozy, delicious; Palate: very heavy body with long, sweet-coffee finish; Overall: don’t know if it’s the Italian coffee beans, but this is really good. A great surprise.

From a bottle. The sweet chocolate and coffee milkshake aroma is met with a sweet but overly so coffee finish.

Aroma chocolade iets rood fruit. Smaak melk chocolade weinig koffie. Mooi vol en plakkend. Had meer koffie verwacht, verder mooi gebalanceerd bier.

Bottle. Just an amazing complex and very well balanced imperial stout. Coffee, roasted, licorice and some dark cholcolate mixed well together in a very good brew from Emelisse. Full body also.

Bottle at home. Dark brown pour with a thin beige head. Notes of roasted coffee, roasted malts, bitter cherries, smoke, subtle tropical fruit and piney hops, chocolate and molasses. Medium body, medium to low carbonation and a roasty chocolatey bitter aftertaste.

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from Luc. Black with a beige head. Roasted coffee aroma. Taste is quite sweet and almost all coffee-like sensation. No roasted malts or hopbitterness, only coffee roastiness and bitterness. To me it felt and tasted a bit unbalanced with a heavy emphasis on the coffee.

Bottle 0.33l from De Bierkoning Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 19.06.2016. Taste with Ogi. Pour it dark color with small white head. Taste of roasted coffee, smooth texture, nice balanced, some chocolate on the end, medium body, average carbonation. Really nice.
