Shared bottle in De Bierboom (Brugge) on 6th Feb 2015. Cheers whoever brought this. Deep, dark brown body with a beige, thinning top. Coffee notes rule the whole brew with the flavour overpowering all the other ingredients and tastes/aromas. I liked the creamy, smooth body and the flavours, but if coffee is not your thing, leave this alone (the name gives away the flavours anyway).

First of all: the mothfeel of this beer is unbelievable creamy. This is a liquid coffee-toffee-fudge! A glance of what coffe roasters and chocolatiers have to offer. Some might say that this is too much - I think that this is wonderful. I love heavy strong beers and I love coffee. So this is a perfect melange to me ;-)

Bottle from German e-shop Dark brown color with white head, lasting and lacing. Aroma is roasted dark malts, chocolate, very malty but no definite aroma from the coffee. Flavor follows with roasted malts and dark fruits, coffee, cacao and nice bitter and dry aftertaste. Carbonation is soft. This beer is full of roasted malty flavors, very nice!

Flaska från Saveur-biere. Svart med beige skum. Doft av choklad och kaffe. Bra balans av kaffe och choklad i smaken.

Brown to black, dense caramel froth, aroma of coffee, very malty, a hint of smoked. On the palate dense, bitter, black coffee, you feel the alcohol but for a beer with 9,5 % it’s quite integrated.

Dark brown towards black appearance, medium head. Malty, strong coffee aroma, literally espresso. Medium bodied, bitter, but still balanced. Good Stout.

Had this one allready a couple of times before. The bottle I drank came from Bierkoning Amsterdam (exp. 9/16), Not sure if it’s just a really old bottle, but I was very dissapointed. Aroma is fresh licorice, red fruit, a slight sour smell aswell. Taste is bitter, a little infectious and a slight aftertaste of cold coffee. Not the espresso stout I remembered which was 100% fullbodied heavyweight champion of a espresso stout.

On tap @ Six Roses bar (Lille Fr). Excellente bière, présentant des notes de malt torréfié, ainsi que des notes de grains de café très prononcées. La longueur en bouche est impressionnante, et on peut même déceler une belle amertume. Pour les longues soirées d’hiver, c’est impeccable.
