UPDATED: APR 15, 2014 Ruikt heerlijk, koffie, karamel, chocola.geen schuim, donker. Hele sterke koffie smaak. Wel lekker maar nauwelijks bier te noemen. Iced espresso is t :) In paultje wel schuim. Toch ook wel bierig

bottle from beergeek in prague. rich dark brown with a lingering light brown head; sure enough, plenty of espresso in the aroma, grainy with some cocoa; plenty of caramel and milk chocolate sweetness and dry coffee bitterness. works for me

Nearly no head, thin lacing, with a pitch black color. Flimsy flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate and toasty malts, no sign of sweetness involved so far. Coffee and malts from the beginning, while coffee soon becomes very intense, almost hot. A recognizable bitterness hovers over the coffee-bean flavor, along with bready malts, which are responsible for the balance of the beer. Very smooth, oily mouthfeel, medium-bodied. The taste is very soon established, and doesn’t develop on the palate too much then, just until the finish, in which the bitterness gets enhanced, with hints of earth and nuts. Also, a decent chocolate sweetness is detectable for a short glance, until the espresso bitterness washes it away directly. Contains an immense, slick coffee defined bitterness during the finish, which has an almost spicy aspect, in an otherwise very earthy, well balanced beer.

Pours a coffee brown color with a tan head. Aroma is cacao, but not really strong. Taste is sweet, then strong coffee. Very thick, oily mouthfeel and low carbonation. I like that! Very full taste that lingers after the beer is gone. It’s like an imperial stout, but switched down a gear. Great beer!

Pitch black color, thin brownish head. Strong coffee aroma, roasted malt, dark fruits. Full body, thick creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very intense coffee taste. Alcohol is nowhere to be found. Medium sweet, light bitter taste. Very long and pleasant finish. Straightforward but nevertheless great imperial stout.

Aroma: coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts. Appearance: dark brown/black, no head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: sweets continue, strong coffee, light bitters, intensifying, somewhat dry in the long finish. Overall: fantastic Imperial Stout, lovely coffee aroma and palate. Bottle at the Old Fountain, Old Street.

Pours opaque darkest brown, 2 finger tan head that clings to the glass. Immediate roasted coffee bean aroma, vanilla, cocoa, cream. Taste is definite espresso coffee, vanilla, charred meat, slight pepperiness. Nice oily, velvet mouthfeel. I particularly like the sweetness in this coffee stout. For me, this elevates it above others of the style.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pitch black color, good offwhite foam. Aromas of coffee, roasted aromas, malt, chocolate : high aroma intensity . Full body & high complexity . Some immediate sweetness, followed by light bitterness - overall on the sweet side. Very enjoyable
