UPDATED: APR 15, 2014 Ruikt heerlijk, koffie, karamel, chocola.geen schuim, donker. Hele sterke koffie smaak. Wel lekker maar nauwelijks bier te noemen. Iced espresso is t :) In paultje wel schuim. Toch ook wel bierig

Dark brown towards black appearance, medium head. Malty, strong coffee aroma, literally espresso. Medium bodied, bitter, but still balanced. Good Stout.

Had this one allready a couple of times before. The bottle I drank came from Bierkoning Amsterdam (exp. 9/16), Not sure if it’s just a really old bottle, but I was very dissapointed. Aroma is fresh licorice, red fruit, a slight sour smell aswell. Taste is bitter, a little infectious and a slight aftertaste of cold coffee. Not the espresso stout I remembered which was 100% fullbodied heavyweight champion of a espresso stout.

On tap @ Six Roses bar (Lille Fr).

Smaak valt tegen. Na de espresso gebeurt er niks. Ik hadden iets verwacht. Niet heel erg veel body. Ik had hem iets dikker verwacht.

Drank as a draught. Very strong taste and a very good beer. There’s coffee there and maybe some chocolate.

330ml bottle. pours almost jet black, oily in the glass. aroma is liquorice, spices and of course coffee. nice warm full mouth feel. you certainly get coffee but not as much as i expected/hoped for. still really enjoyed it. bitter, chocolate-y molasses and burnt sugar.

Bottle from De Hopduvel, Gent, Belgium. I was worried that the Espresso taste will ruin the the taste of the beer but no I still have that Imperial Stout taste I like.
