Pours a brown beer with a good white head. Smells a bit like vommit. Sweet. Tastes good. Bit nuts, caramel. Average carbo, medium body and a bit dry texture.

330ml bottle (Gallows Bird, Espoo)
Very rich roast. Soft smooth palate, not quite slick, but getting there. Deep red, almost no head. Sweetish, perhaps a bit underattenuated. Full caramelly malts, as you can guess, but nice dry bitter hop finish, varies from woody to fatty to soapy to metallic to barky. Solid bock, shame about the sweetness.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2014 Mooi troebel donker roodbruin bockbier, geur is erg op de achtergrond, beetje geroosterde mout. In de smaak zoet met daarna bittertonen en een vol romige afdronk.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2014 33cl bottle - quite pleasant caramel & nuts bock with a light body, hence well drinkable but hardly an example that will turn over the non-enthused of the style or make a case for enjoying it out of season.../rerate V14: did not realise I’d had this before...thoroughly enjoyed the well-balanced rich mix of abbey dubbel notes this time (prune, caramel roast, butterscotch) with even coffee and late liquorice rounding off the augmented Bock experience on a stout note. +0,5

Bottled. Murky reddish amber colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some nuttyness, mild caramel and some slight grassyness. Flavour is caramel, bread, some earth, herbs and mild nuttyness. Quite pleasant bock, and actually feels quite much like a lager.
