Note: 5/10

Bottle @ home shared with my dad. Dark brown colored brew with a ruby red glow coming through, big light beige head that lasts for quite awhile and leaves a nice lacing in the glass. Smell malts, roasted malts, coffee, earth, slightly chocolate hints. Taste coffee, roasted malts, some sweet-bitter hints. Average carbo, medium body.

Nice woody choclate aroma. Bittersweet taste. Really dark beer. 33cl bottle.

Pours brick orange to brown with a light beige head. Heavily toasty aroma. Bready, lightly nutty and quite fruity (melon, yellow fruits, apricot) lager. There is a slightly tart fruitiness to it that refreshes atop the toasted malts and cuts through the moderate residual sugars. A gentle hint of leafy/spicy hops close it all, but remain very timid in bitterness. Light bodied and with just a touch of alcohol, it’s no show-stopper, but is a more than decent interpretation.

from Erzbierschof - hazy dark ruby-brown beer with a poor head retebtion; malty and nuty aroma; quite full-bodied, pretty sweet, quite dry and a long malty, nutty finish with light notes of alcohol

Bottle. Dark brown, small and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel, light roasted malt and light hoppyness. Medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel, light roasted malt and light hoppyness, light bread. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, some caramel and roasted malt, light bread and some hoppyness, some alcohol. Too sweet for me, but nice hoppyness for bock.

don’t know why it’s called a bock, but nice beer all the same... hops, fruity hops, clove?, hints of roasted malts... taste is a bit unbalanced, leaning towards sour.... medium long bitter hoppy finish... fresh, a bit weird

33 cl bottle, BBE 09/2013
Aroma has vegetables, roasted malt and some sweet, dark fruits. Flavour is rather malty with vegetables, some coffee and dark sugar. The malt is really roasted and almost burned. Harsh bitterness in the end. Not my cup of tea.
