Rich, in more ways than one, and rather tasty. Scorchy, slightly burnt and toasty. Other elements of tobacco, crust, dark fruits and chocolate. Good stuff.

Bottled, 33 cl. Pours black with a creamy and laceing dark brown head on its top. Smell of in alcohol dipped cherries. Tongue numbing brew with a complexx aroma containing dark chocolate, brown sugar, dried cherries, earth and liqueur. Texture is thick, syrupy. Long, sweetbitter, liqueurique finish with roasted malt and some resiny hops. Great brew.

Bottle: Literally black, small and stable tanned foamy layer, solid sweet-sourish nose, fruits and molasses included; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied, soft MF; lingering caramelly-sourish finish. Easy-drinking session Stout…

Bottle shared with (and courtasy of) Veitafan. Pours a black colour with a small light beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma with dried fruit, ash and coffee. More roast in the flavour along with anise, leather and dark berries. Oily mouthfeel, and has a medium bitterness. A great and well-balanced beer with a nice roasted touch.

Geruch dunkelmalzig, Bitterschokolade, röstige Noten, Pflaumen. Antrunk süß, viel dunkles Malz. Mitte Schokolade, Kaffee, Pflaume, Weintraube, bitteres Malz. Abgang süß und bitterschwer, fruchtige Momente, Röstaromen. Excellent!

Black color with no head at all. Aroma of liquerece, chocolate, strawberies may be, interesting. Taste is sweet and a bit bitter like coffee, nicely balanced. Medium body, sticky texture, flat carbonation. My girlfriend likes it and I like it as well. If you like sweet stouts this one is pretty good.

Lawks a lordy, 11%! It’s a bit of a brute of a beer this one and I can feel it in my bones despite having not taken off the cap yet. Having done so I can see that you can try and shine a light through the body of this beer but you’ll get bugger-all for your efforts. There may have been a tinge of deep ruby port in the dimple of the glass but I may have been hallucinating. The aroma is definitely vinous: prunes, port, currants, cake, maybe a bit of marzipan nuttiness, or possible deep amontillado sherry nuttiness with oloroso fruitiness. There’s a suggestion of vanilla, mace and garam masala. In the mouth there is a fine mousse of carbonation and then a dazzling palette of flavours, or palate of flavours, both work for this as there’s a myriad shades of the afore mentioned aromas manifest in the flavour. It is deep and spicy with the emphasis on those prunes and port. Maybe a nod toward rum soaked tobacco (Myers Rum). The finish was an enduring chord of all the flavours with higher notes of plummy fruit. I found this beer enormously gratifying. A fireside beer, a beer for late night contemplation, a beer for thoughtful study and definitely a beer to try and replicate.

33 cl bottle [9.8% ABV, 70.7 EBU] A very dark beer with a nice thick dark tan head and some lacing. Very pleasant aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee, roast and a little fruity. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy with soft carbonation. Flavors are mostly coffee and roasted malt with a little toffee and rounded of with a gentle bitterness. It won’t knock you over, but it is very, very pleasant. I like it a lot.

The first one I drank from Emelisse. A great full flavoured imperial stout. Fan of Emelisse ever since.

330 ml bottle. Aroma fruity and very sweet, of figs, dates and chocolate. Taste of leather, chocolate and coffee. Some burnt notes, especially when it gets a bit warmer and flatter. Very sweet.
