4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma is fig, anise, cocoa and brown sugar. Taste follows and adds great caramel, toffee and roast notes. Body is a little on the thin side but the finish is long. Delicious.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Roasting aroma. Black colour with thick dark brown foam made of mixed bubbles. Powerful stout taste. Creamy mouthfeel. Strong ABV. Probably the darkest and bitterest stout I’ve tried so far. Could be too much for some people.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Uma das melhores stout que já experimentei. Nem parece que tem 11% de alcool. Um pouco enjoativa por causa do doce. Muito boa.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle BB Dec 2015, which I think makes this a 2012 vintage. Black, big foamy tan head doesn’t endure long. Aroma has piney hop, cocoa powder, rose petal. Body is medium, a little foamy, low carbonation. Taste is treacle, liquorice, drying roasted malts, some sharp hop and alcohol. Sharp booze. An aggressive beer. Still quite raw - could do with a couple more years I think.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From a 330ml bottle on 18/2/2015. Pours close to black with a small tan head. Has nice chocolatey nose, with some roasted malt, lots of caramel, and a touch of booze. The flavour is powerful - again lots of chocolate (milk and dark), caramel, vanilla, soy, brown sugar, and treacle. It’s very sweet up front but the sweetness is met by a sharpish roasty bitterness, which lingers in the background. The palate is lovely - very creamy, with the carbonation modest. A very enjoyable impy.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Decent Russian imperial stout slightly marred by the prominence of the 11% abv. Looks terrific. inviting aroma of coffee and marshmallows. Full mouthfeel. Vegemite notes and heavy alcohol. Dry, ashy finish. Richly flavoured but a bit heavy handed - I like my alcohol more integrated. (330ml bottle from Leura Cellars)
