3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Amundsen. Pours black with a tiny light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and dried fruits. Quite sweet and fruity with a light bitterness. Some taste of alcohol, but not disturbing. Slightly dry finish, but all in all a litte too sweet for my taste.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.16 oz. bottle. Pours a thick dense black with a thin brown head that lasted though the first quarter of the glass and left very little lace. Pleasant but surprisingly mild aroma of lightly roasted malt, plums and coffee. The flavor is more substantial than the aroma with roasted malt and coffee along with plums and a bit of raisin. Moderate roast bitterness at the finish. Some mild alcohol heat at the finish as well. Dense and full bodied.

Aroma is sweet, a bit of alcohol and metallic notes, also dried raisins. Head is dense and lasting. Pitch black color. Taste is raisins, some smoky notes, sherry and liquor taste. Long bitter finish. The bitterness is slightly alcoholic, not hoppy. Very low carbonation. Winey notes also. Complex with nice bitter finish.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bottle. Dark brown to black draught with a head that looks like milk chocolate mousse. Great start! Aroma of chocolate and raisins and a little .... sour. Taste is cacao and raisins, mouthfeel is thick and foamy. Very low on carbonation. Cassis and strong coffee. Aftertaste is lots of alcohol, not exactly hidden, but not unpleasant either. Bitter taste lingers in the mouth. Would I buy this again? I would, especially since it’s relatively cheap for an Imperial Stout.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle @ home. Black color, brown medium head. Aroma strong cofee, roasty, slightly smokey, some dark chocolate. Heavy bitter taste minimal sweetness, low alcohol taste (for a 11% beer, wow). Oily texture, low carbonation, long bitter finish. Strong bitter coffeeish beer for hardcore beer fans.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2013 Superzwart. Geen schuim helaas. Ruikt lekker. Sterke maar lekkere smaak. Koffieachtig.
Nu wel veel schuim. Stroperig. Lekker zoet.

Pours black with huge brown head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, grass, pinecones. Taste is chocolate fudge, coffee, caramel, raisins and a solid bitterness that lasts long into the finish. Incredibly full-bodied and thick. Really delicious world-class RIS.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 11%
Pours a totally black coloured beer, with a dark brown head on top, two fingers in size, with very good retention, leaving thick lacing around the glass after it collapses.
Aroma is full of chocolate, alcohol after some deep sniffs, vanilla.
Very nice taste of chocolate, light spices on the finish, alcohol and light vanilla. Bitterness kicks in late but it has a long duration and it brings coffee notes and roasted malts flavours with it.
Full body with good carbonation. Sticky on the palate.
Overall a really great IRS, faithful to the style.
