3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a clear, dark brown beer with a small, beige head. The aroma is very chocolatey, in a milk chocolate way. Toffee too. Really sweet on the palate, but there’s also bitterness, and quite a lot of cloves. Some coffee. It’s full-bodied and sweet on the palate, borderline sticky. Lasting chocolate and coffee finish with a lot of cloves. It has a quite lovely aroma this one, but it’s way, way too clove-like. 140301

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From 75 cl bottle. Black color. Off white to beige head, short retention. Aroma’s: Vanilla (x3), sweet, hints of red fruit. Retronasal it’s more red fruit, chocolate, sweets, some acidity. Flavor is moderate bitter, herbs, moderate sweet. Weird. Medium bodied. Finishes vegetal and rather bitter. Can’t say I liked it.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big vanilla nose. Then you get a cinnamon and crème brulle flavour, burnt crème brulle and then some more cinnamon. You get a big finish and then some burnt cinnamon on the finish, maybe, just maybe too much cinnamon.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very sticky cinnamon and vanilla. Dense dragging vanilla, oaty and rich - dripping in well thought malt and pernickity sweetness. Not a terribly impressive push towards sickly sweet finish that I’d hoped for a pancake stacked dry bready finsh drowned in brulee sweetness. Wee bit dank sweaty malt finish.
Bottle, Black Friday Tasting, from the hallowed CGarvieUK cellar.
