3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a clear, dark brown beer with a small, beige head. The aroma is very chocolatey, in a milk chocolate way. Toffee too. Really sweet on the palate, but there’s also bitterness, and quite a lot of cloves. Some coffee. It’s full-bodied and sweet on the palate, borderline sticky. Lasting chocolate and coffee finish with a lot of cloves. It has a quite lovely aroma this one, but it’s way, way too clove-like. 140301

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared with my dad at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, Friday 8th March 2013 Pours very dark brown, actually its probably black with large light beige head. Aroma is sort of creamy chocolate, sweetness wafts off of this. Taste was initially quite big caramel with vanilla creaminess and milk chocolate but the caramel was the key thing I noticed, but also creamy and very smooth. This actually improved from an unpromising start and the hops which I had barely noticed started to wrestle a little of the ground back and pushed the sweetness back. Ok this is a sweet stout but it was actually better than I initially thought. Not bad, I think that Craig would like this. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov15 3.6

Sampled from bottle @ RBBSG II. Pitch black color, small light brown head. Smell "hopjesvla" sweetness and yuk. Taste malts, dark malts, lightly some hops and fortunately, thank god, no "hopjesvla". Medium body and carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
75cl bottle courtesy of benzai @ RBBSG II. Emelisse’s take on Southern Tier Crème Brûlée? in any case, a much better result in this dutch version.
