Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks interesting. Beer in the glass brownish, nice head. Starts strong, fine malty spicy, intense note of nuts. Finish a bit unbalanced, spicy and woody. Nice one.

33cl Bottle from Mitra Rokin. Dark brown colour with a tiny red hue, off-white creamy head. Aroma is very earthy, hazelnut shells, fibres, sweet dark malts, tiny hint of chocolate. 3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Countbeer (2853) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 20, 2012
Bottle:
Medium to bigger but lively head changes quick into a smaller head that is still lively and changes slowly into a lacing which has more sticking on the glass than in the middle.
Smell sharp gass, caramel, nutty, hint of chocolate, light benzine, some very light hints of cleaner, some light sticky sweetness like the caramel and chocolate sweets and some dust.
Taste is big hazulnut taste with some cacoa notes, chocolate malts, nutty dust and yeast, chalk, light bitter, lighter sweetness, some malty bittersweets and chocolate (liquorice) wood ish light coal notes.
Aftertaste is short and thin with just some hints of chocolate malts, nuts and grassy floral notes.
Low to meeium carbo, soft mouthfeel, mediumm body and a light watery texture.
Fun to see something different like this. Not even a bad beer but just a lot of hazulnuts and chocolate (nice as a chocolate paste reminder...)
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ober (2765) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - OCT 25, 2012
A clear brown colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of fruits with caramel, hints of chocolate with notes. The taste of caramel with some fruits, hazelnut, with hints of chocolate. The aftertaste is sweet with some bitter. IMO the best of the 3 notenbocks.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ClubGonzo (2712) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle from trade with Bierkonig. Deep brown, near-black body with a small off-white head. Nose is caramel, hazel nuts, grains, straw and hints of rye and toffee. The hazel really comes out good in this one. Taste is a rather strange and somewhat discordant whirl of chocolate, hazel nuts (but now it seems weird), caramel, grains and straw. Although all the components in and by themselves seem fair enough, the combination doesn’t really work out for me, for some reason. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Not a very balanced beer, but I still wonder how they get so much nuttiness in the kettle without ruining head retention...
