Superb porter. Head huge and uneven and staying forever. Has everything that makes a porter great. Coffee mostly, some chocolate, that nice dry powdery finish. This is a little masterpiece. Bottle from Van Nap in Woerden.

(Keg at Pikkulintu, 20140815) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had chocolate, roasted malts, liquorice and mildly fruitiness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were chocolate, burnt malts, coffee, ash and bitterness. Afteraste was burnt and bitter. A very burnt porter with unpleasing unidentified flavour. Still a balanced brew.

Draught @ Pikkulintu. Aroma has rather sweet cocoa tones and some licorice. Flavour is sweet with salty licorice, soy sauce, some herbal tones and licorice. There is an odd, grainy and hayish off-flavour here I do not find nice. At the end of the glass I learned to ignore it though.

Bottle 33cl. Black with a brown head. Coffee and malt aroma and some toast. Very rich taste which includes coal, tar, coffee and some fruit at the end. A long lasting finish completes this great beer.

33cl bottle at home. Dark brown with a small tan head. Medium to full body with light carbonation. Sweetness combined with some herbal bitterness. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, some coffee, dark fruits, some wood and vanilla. A very tasty porter!

Bottled from Emelisse, BB 12 2015, large sample, served in a TeKu. Dark color, medium lasting light brown head. Aroma of dark malts, coffee, chocolate, hint of licorice. Taste has some caramelly sweetness along roasty bitterness. Finish has slight alcohol and is a bit dry. Quite clean, quite a lot of chocolate notes. Medium carbonation, medium bodied. Great american porter.

Nose full of coffee, smooth and aroma-full. Hints of orange, very smooth coffee, milk-chocolate. Great deep in flavour. The aftertaste is smooth, very nice coffee-chocolate. Great! 14/13/14/14

Aroma is subtle, sweet malts plus a little alcohol and fishy undertones. Head didn’t last at all. Taste is a subtle mix of chocolate and coffee malts, a hint of alcohol and medium, earthy, bitterness. Great mouthfeel thanks to its big body. A nice beer.

Nice dark malts, malty sourness, good sweet finish... great porter... but why not a stout?

33 cl bottle.
Pours black color with a small off-white head. Roasted malts and caramel on the nose, faint cocoa and coffee with distant wooden and smoky notes. Malty, slightly fruity, I can almost taste some tar here, smoked ham, caramel and dark chocolate, maybe some distant spices and espresso also. Bitter malty palate, lingering velvety chocolate aftertaste. Balanced, flavorful brew with a full body. Nice.
