Ruikt echt heerlijk! Mooi zwart. Stevige smaak. Koffie achtig. Speciaal, maar niet echt mijn soort bier

Bottlle from saveur-biere: Aroma of dark malts, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, coffee. Black color, small creamy brownish head. Flavor is full malty, intensive milk and dark chocolate notes, some dark berries, cocoa, vanilla, more coffee notes in the end, roasted malt bitter finish. Good and balanced.

Flaska från Saveur Bieré. Smak och doft av choklad, torkad frukt, karamell, brunt socker, trä, med toner av espresso, vanilj och rök. Rund och len, välbalanserad, lagom sötma, fin beska. Mycket gott!

Beautiful far ruby red color. It has that lovely porter/stout appearance. The layer of creamy foam has that ice almond color. It has a familiar porter aroma of roasted barley, chocolate and some toffee in the distance but also some floral hoppy aroma’s. There is also a nice herbal cinnamon aroma. Not manny porters have those hoppy aroma’s. It gives the porter a whole new dimension. The taste is devine. It totally represents the smell. Nice full mouth and nice sparkle for a porter.

On tap at Haand Festival. It pours a dark brown body under a dense, finger thick tan head. The aroma is of the roasted kind, with chocolate and some bonfire notes. There’s some sweetness in the flavor, but it’s actually quite dryish. Roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, hintsof bonfire and a nice piney bitterness. Full body and a nice carbonation level. Lasting finish. Tasteful and easy drinkable this one, even at 7% ABV. 140524

Deep dark cola colour with ruby highlights and a small tan head. Strong aromas of dark chocolate, coffee and charred meat. The taste also has these roasty flavours, some molasses sweetness midway through and then finishes with dark ckocolate and with a light earthy hop bitterness. Fairly light bodied, smooth and dangerously drinkable for 7% ABV. A quality porter.

Very dark brown, somewhat hazy with some floaters, weak to medium strong tan creamy head. Aroma is sweet caramel, (milky) chocolate, some herbal aroma, roasted malts. Taste is low to moderate sweet caramel, chocolate, toasted bread, bit of herbal notes, roasted malts. Dry, roasted bitter finish and moderate lasting roasty aftertaste. Medium+ bodied, medium carbonation.

Very nice aroma of ashes, dry cocoa, a bit of hops and dark malts. It’s almost clear except the small pieces os yeast floating. It’s dark seal color, with big, steady tanned head. Great lacing. In taste there is a lot of hops, very dry coffee and cocoa. In the beginning there is a bit of sweetness in this beer, flower sweetness. But it immediately changes to very dry, dark tasted beer. A bit of bitterness in the aftertaste. Pleasant mouth feel, but it might have a little bit bigger body.

33cl bottle bb09/2016, Geers. Massive liquorice, arabica bean style, bitter chocolate. Drinks very laden and heavy like a doube espresso: condensed black malts going for a black hole approach towards mouthfeel. Likewise overly hopped with nice, but overintense dark berry, cassis, citrus, bitter dark malt, coffee bean and wood notes. - Obviously very well made, but a tad too abv heavy and by a PoMo design that appeals less to my taste buds’ needs to breathe in between the horror vacui onslaught of bitterness. "There is a hole in everything/that’s where the light gets in." Did not find the hole here. Reminds me of a denser Sierra Nevada Porter.

PotjeBier (1986) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 2, 2015
Had this right after I drainpoured De Molen’s Summer Porter. Slighty past BB date. Very dark color. Beige head, dense, small layer retention. Aroma’s: moderate sweetness, cassis/blackberries, roasted malts. Retronasal it’s soft sweet & roasted, berries. Flavor is light sweet, soft roast, cassis. Medium bodied. Velvetty mouthfeel, very fine carbonation. Strongly roasted finish, ash, moderate bitter.

330mL bottle from International Beer Collector BB 12/15 Not much fanfare on opening, but pours a very attractive near-black body with an inch of firm beige head. Good nose, surprisingly hoppy - woody, piney, earthy, dried leaves, touch of cooked citrus, with plenty of malty notes of dark chocolate, roast nuts, brown toffee, and sweet biscuits. Smooth palate, nice slick, silky texture, reasonably low carbonation. Palate delivers well - roasted nuts, biscuity, toasty malt, dark chocolate, rich toffees, hops not as prominent but still some earthy, spicy, leafy notes, and a firm bitterness. Smooth finish, doesn’t give away too much of that 7% abv. Thoroughly enjoyable porter. Drinks well for its strength!
