33cl bottle @ home from Bert’s Bierhuis Oost, Utrecht. Body is clear, dark brown, Head is extremely big, brownish, rocky, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is coffee, Aroma is dark roasted coffee, toast, coal, dark chocolate. Taste is light sweet, heavy bitter. Finish is long lasting heavy roasty bitter, later also hoppy. Full body, oily feel, lively carbonation - grows in my mouth. Simple, strong flavor, not too heavy still massive, great one.

Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. Black with a small mocha head. Nose is creamy roast, burned malts & mocha, caramel, sweet. Taste is clearly porter but a lot creamier than most examples from the style, coffee, touch milk with sugar, caramel, burned coffee & reasonably corasted malt, sweet chocolate. Very creamy body for the style. Another nice offering from Emelisse.

Bottle from the source. Dark maroon brown, beige head. Aroma of very roasty coffee grounds and an espresso pot left on the burner too long. Taste has bitter dark chocolate, burnt coffee, dark winter fruit. Delicious.

Pours a black beer with a good creamy tan head. Smells chocolate, cream, coffee. I like. Tastes fruity, chocolate with a good bitter finish. Average carbo, medium body and a sticky texture.

Bottle at home. Black pour, huge off-white to tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and licorice. Flavor is quite sweet, bitter roasted malts and with a solid body and huge carbonation. Really well balanced and intense brew. Very nice.

Countbeer (4908) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - NOV 28, 2013
Bottle: Served in a 0,5 L. plastic festival cup: Medium sized beige to light brown foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of coffee, roast, bread/rye, some chocolate, dried leaves and dried leave toast, some dark pure chocolate and a hint of ash. Flavours are a mix of marzepin, nuts, roast, coffee, bitter, dried herbal tones and bitters, bit dry, dried leaves, some gras and hay tones, some chocolate, malt roast, hint of spices, light creamy and some wood roast. Aftertaste is dry with a lingering bitterness with dried leaves, toast/roast, some coffee, chocolate and some grass. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, full bodied and a creamy texture. Wow, dry, roasty, bitter. Very well executed porter. Would love to chug this an evening long! Well done!
