Bottle 6.2%. Pours a slightly hazy reddish amber with a small, yellowish-brown head that dissipates down to a ring rather quickly. Aroma is very smoky, slight fruit, slight smoked ham, slight bready malt. Taste begins with a lot of smoked ham, turns to regular smoke, fruity and malty in the middle. Lots of smoke and fruitiness on the finish. Palate is medium, somewhat carbonated.

Murky burgundy pour with chestnut at its core and a small latte head. Aroma of charred pork belly, hickory-smoked ribs, brown sugar, and caramel. Flavor is a little more modest. Oak, cedar, and mesquite all present. Lighter, less chewy, less sticky than others in its style but all of the qualities are present.

Appearance: Amber/brown with floaters and a light brown/cream head. Aroma: Smoke with sweet malt backdrop. Flavor: Similar to aroma with sweet malt, caramel, coffee and a mild but distinct smokiness. Palate: Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall: A well balanced rauchbier though less aggressive than others - perfect for introducing others to the style.

Pours a nice amber beer. Smells like smoke captain obvious. Lovely smell. Also bit fruity. The taste is great. A smokey taste. Nice bitter finish. Good one.

Very slightly smoky. Most prominent flavor is that of a Dubbel- caramel, brown sugar, and prunes.

My first smoked beer. Quite an experience. Has the aroma of a campfire and it tastes as such, also some hints of whiskey.

aroma is kinda smoky, more like bacon than wood. color is a cloudy amber or ruby. flavor is somewhat smoky but luckily not as bad as some of the german stuff. you get a bit of wood, a touch of grass, and even a bit of brown sugar. its almost like a smoked belgian ale. weird. but it works.

In short: Wood smoke and sweet (too sweet) caramelized backbone. Tasty but low drinkability.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed some 6 months after receiving it through private importation.
The look: Ugly milky light brown body with many particles and a small beige head.
In long: Nose is quite smoky with a beach-campfire type of smoke character. Hard to pick-up anything else from the aroma with such a strong smoky character. Taste is very toasted, lots of toasted cereals and hay, lots of caramel, lots of cookies, medium smoke presence. In mouth the intense smoky aroma is almost overwhelmed by the strong caramelized backbone making the beer feels only moderately smoky. I like when a heavily malted smoked offers refreshing fruitiness to increase complexity and drinkability, this one didn’t, just a whole lot of caramelized malts and smoking wood. Too sweet for the style (imho) but toasted enough to wash away some of the residual sugars. And I swear I could feel a little alcohol bite in the finish and this is a sweet beer with only a 6.5% abv. All in all, just an ok beer, I wouldn’t drink more than a single bottle of this. Yet another “just ok” beer from Emelissse, I think the odds of me being at this brewery on the exact day when they release an awesome beer is about 0 out of 0.

Bottle 0,33L. Hazy, amber red colour with tiny light brown head. Aroma of smoke dominates this beer and it’s hard to say if there is anything else in aroma of this beer, maybe some roasted malts. Taste is moderate bitter with strong smokey note. Medium to full body, oily texture and soft carbonation, but too much smoke in aroma and taste for me.
