Draft at redlight redlight, Orlando. Aroma is a little more ashy and woody than smoked meats. The ashiness does not transfer into the flavor. Smooth and surprisingly easy drinking. Substantial mouthfeel. Well balanced and not lacking any smoke.

From a 0.33 L bottle. A fully diminishing greyish-blond head, upon a shady deep golden brown body. Gently sweet and toasted malt aroma. Mild burnt wood/smoke, and some fine fruit tones. Oily, almost creamy in the mouth. Medium body. Rounded smoked wood flavor, along with light caramelly malts. Firm bitterness underneath. Mild smoke linger in the finish. A balanced and moreish Smoked.

Une bičre surprenante, composée d’un grand pourcentage de malts spéciaux. Au nez, des arômes de malt fumé, complétés par des notes de bacon fumé en bouche.

Dark amber with light brown foam head lacing to glass. Smells like charcoal, tastes like smoked grain, nice on alcohol content. (Bruinisse 201206) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 10, 2012
11/12/12/13/9/13

330ml bottle. Smoke, roast and caramel aromas. Pours dark, with some ambr tones. Light body (a bit watered down), average tan head and some lacework. Soft carbonation. Taste is smoky and come caramel. Not my favourite somked beer.

Marsiblursi (2684) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 30, 2012
(Bottle) hazy reddish brown with a sand colored head. The ara holds campfire, smoked meat and tar up front with undertones bread, light grassy/herbal hops, hay and a touch of dried fruits. The flavour light sweet to dry, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of smoke, grass, herbs, resin, hay, touch of caramel, dried fruits, chocolate and horse. The mouthfeel soft, clean and light velvety with a soft carbonation. Smoky, balanced hoppy (but for the style aggressive) and fairly complex malty finish. Light to medium bodied.

330 ml bottle bought @ Ętre Gourmet. Pours slightly hazy dark amber with a rather small frothy brownish white head that quickly dissipates while leaving some trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with bread, smoke, wood, dried meat, dried sweet dark fruits, hay, cereal and green herbs like oregano and thyme. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and tiny sour, malty and tiny metallic with dark bread, golden syrup, smoke, caramel, hay, orange zest, wood, plums, raisins, toffee, wet soil, hints of oily pine and very subtle hints of barnyard. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and tiny metallic with dark rye bread, sweet dark fruits, smoke, wood, lemon zest and hay. Wow! A very nice surprise!

DuffMan (4428) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 25, 2012
Bottle shared with Parksy. Medium amber with an average off white head. Aroma is intense meaty smoke with an underlying sweetness, very enticing. Rich meaty salty smoky flavour dominates with an underlying sweet caramel base. A bit thin in the body, but I think this lends to its drinkability. The Bamberg origins are readily apparent here. Very well done, very good.
