Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A hazy golden coloured that pours with a huge foamy head. It has a sharp lemon, toffee, malty and citrus flavour followed by an almond and zesty, spicy warming finish. Not as tart as a normal Saison, but a very nice beer.

Yellow colour, small white head. Aroma of basment, malts. Taste is light bitter and a bit funky. Light body, oily texture, average carbonation.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a big and blond firm foamy head. Yeasty, citrus-fruity, lemony and zesty aroma with notes of wheat, white bread and doughy malt. Bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dry and delicately malty taste with fruity and slightly flowery hops, including notes of citrus and grapefruit; dry and bitter finish with hoppy and slightly peppery yeasty spice. A tad harsh but also quite likeable. 26.VIII.14

Aroma of fruits, spicy yeast, bit peppery, slight malt. Flavour is fruity and yeasty, light sweetness, with a light bitterness in the aftertaste. Pleasant Saison, but the yeast could be a bit more wild.

Bottle at home. Hazy gold pour with extremely lacy white head. Aroma is really yeasty, fruity and spicy yeast, lots of black pepper, hints of banana, strong wheaty notes, bready, ginger and clove. Taste is spicy and wheaty, really grainy, luckily it is pretty low abv so it isn’t cloying, but you could certainly use a bit more dryness and hoppiness here. Palate is light-med bodied, with good carbonation.

Bottle. Light golden, hazy, average to large and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, faint fruitiness and light citrus with some spiciness (pepper, light coriander), light - some hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty and dryish flavor, light citrus hoppyness and some spiciness, light hoppyness. Finish is average to long, malty and dryish, light citrus, some sharp and peppery spiciness, some hoppyness. OK dryish and peppery saison. Although body is bit thin.

Tap at Rootz at the Harbour, Scheveningen. Poured a hazy light amber with a thin white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is yeast, very light grapefruit. The flavour is acid citrus with a light yeasty mineral citrus hop bitter palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Not much in the way of flavour. A combination of light flavours with nothing that really stands out. Fine in the summer but I would not order a second.

Bottle at Emelisse. Pours clear golden with a steady white head. Spicy nose, rather peppery taste with only faint hints of malt... not a typical saison.
