Bottled. Deep murky coppery brown with basically no head. Aroma is smoked wet wood, rar, some roasted malts, mild raisins and plummy notes as well. Flavour is quite big on the tar, mild roasted malts, some slight burnt wet wooden notes as well as some slight toffee and raisins.

24th September 2010. Borefts Beer Festival.
Cloudy dark brown beer. Little tan head. Nice blend of sourish fruity malt and a little smoke. Gets a tad dry towards the finish but a nice drinkable smoked beer.

RBESG 2013. Bottle at the brewery. Black beer with a nice beige/brownish head. Smoked aroma, malty, dark chocolate, peat, vanilla, licorice, some caramel, some ash. Smoked flavor, ash, soot, dark chocolate. The smoke is a bit too much, it kinda godes the rest of the beer.

Muffig malziger Antrunk mit säuerlich rauchigem, ziemlich unwichtigen Hintergrund. Etwas muffig, wenig aromatisch. Wirkt ziemlich banal. 10/9/9/9/9/9

Bottle, at Haand Festival. An almost clear one, dark brown in color and with a small, beige head on top. The aroma is peaty and roasted, with some coffee and toast, and hints of chocolate. There’s some sweetness in the flavor, which as the aroma leans heavily towards peat and roasted malts. Some coffee too. Dry on the palate, full-bodied and with a pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish. A tasteful one, but I prefer a regular porter or a smoked porter with normal smoked malt, not the peated kind. 130525

Dark almost opaque black color, small off-white head. Very intensive peat aroma; probably the most peatiest I’ve ever tasted, some licorice too. Medium-bodied. Peaty flavor too, also some toasted malts, perhaps some caramel too. Tobacco. Quite unique porter in its peatyness.
