Fles gedeeld met rikstar. Amberkleurig, helder bier. Geur is rookig, smaak is hoppig, licht zuur vol bitter. Body is mooi vol. Had het bier iets zwaarder ingeschat vwb alcohol.

slightly sour smell, not really smoke. taste is clearly smoked. it remains on first taste, but then a sweetness, very slightly herbal and finally the bitterness makes itself known. not a light drink, has a sticky, volume rolling over the tongue. excellent, but smoke is more a background feature.

Soft aroma and a smooth taste. Taste is strong in smoke and rye, but it goes down smoothly. This is a good one.

Bottle, pours hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma: tropical fruit, tangerine, rye bread, light smoke . Taste: grapefruit, tangerine, caramel, tropical fruit. Light-medium sweet, moderate to high bitterness, medium body. Dry bitter fruity finish with hints of smoke.

(33 cl bottle courtesy of Douberd; BBD: June 2015) Pours a hazy amber with three finger white head. Good retention and beautiful lace. Aroma has notes of sodapop along with a hint of smoke. Oily texture, soft carbonation, medium body and a dry and smoky finish. Flavour is smoky with some bittersweetness. Not my cup of tea. Girlfriend says: "I wouldn’t drink a whole glass of it but ... it’s interesting!"

A brown and slightly orange colour, a head is weak and blond. Looked at full bodied when poured to glass, slow bubbling. The aroma is personal, some tropical fruits, smoke, fructose, feels quite sweet. The aroma is totally weird but still quite interesting. Taste is also quite unique. Smoked malts, spices from rye, some fruits, quite mild bitterness, not too sweet. Strong bodied, as the apperance promises, low carbonation. Weird as mentioned many times. Rye is also quite strong. Not very balanced. Recommendations for the personal beer’s lovers.

BOTTLE 33 CL from dcmchew. Thank you! Look: clear copper body, big tan frothy to creamy head with good retention. Aroma: rich savory aroma. Hops - sweet tropical fruit, some tannic notes, very little resins, some fresh minty notes too. Caramel / fruit marmalade, faint spicy smoky notes. Taste: rich fruity maltiness balanced by hops, a subdued spicy smoky notes that adds some savor and dryness to the body. Clean dry bitterness in the finish.

Very interesting and weel made well balanced beer. In my version, the smoky notes were quite faint but certainly there. As for rye "spice" - not sure I could detect it.

Net zoals de andere bieren dat ik van deze brouwerij geprobeerd heb een bier dat absoluut niet mijn smaak is. Er zijn goede IPA’s die ik lust, maar deze brouwerij heeft die niet

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 06/15, at Black Door, 20140906) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had smoke, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, malts, sweet rye bread, fruitiness and and bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky, hoppy and bitter. A rather nice smoky brew but hops were rather well hidden.
