Bouteille 33cl, BB 03/2014.

Bought at Emelisse. Amber beer with a small white head, medium carbonation. Tastes smoky, bacon, fruity, hoppy and fruity. Aftertaste is bitter and spicy hops. Smoke and IPA gives an interesting beer.

Slightly hazy orange beer, medium white head, thin retention. Nose is smokey rye, hops in the background, some ash. Flavor is hops and... bacon? Some rye in there, but the ashy smokiness really reminds me of bacon. Finishes with lots of resiny hop bitterness. Not balanced, but pretty interesting.

Tap at In De Wildeman. Hazy orange-amber color, good cloudy off-white head. Aroma has smoke, wet wood and light hops and yeast. Medium-bodied. Smokey, some rye but soft palate. Late spicey bitterness. Interesting, well-brewed but not something you would drink all night.

Hazy orange/amber. Nose honey and citrus. Fairly full bodied for an ipa, mouthfeel a little sticky, fairly low in carbonation. Taste caramel, brown sugar, citrus, some grapefruit, butter, not extremely bitter. Not exceptional, but has a nice balance between the sweet and bitter flavors.

I liked the moderate complexity of this beer taste. Has nice hops taste, almost perfectly balanced with smoke: neither is (very) dominant. I like that. An interesting combination. On the other hand: the beer is not top-notch. Just a nice, fine variation.

A: Smoke, some sour vinuos tone, malt, hops T: Creamy mouthfeel, smokey, bitter O: Believe this has been sitting on my shelf for a bit too long... Had it before and remembered it a lot better. Still good though.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21B, adapted). Bottle 33 cl - Batch A. AROMA: a blend of smoked malt aroma with hop notes (pine and resin and some tropical fruit). balance a bit towards the smoked malt. APPEARANCE: ambar color and hazy. average moussy ivory head with average retention. TASTE: hop flavours of tropical nature (green mango) and some pine, with a restrained smoked malt background. high bitterness that lasts beyond an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium body with a slight texture. medium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: an interesting combination but is it worth it?

Prezentacja: bursztynowe, lekko mętne, piana niska drobna, opada do pierścienia, średni lacing ;
Aromat: delikatny słodowy słodki i wędzony drzewny, lekki mosiądz ;
Odczucie: średnie ciało, bardzo gładkie, więcej niż oleiste, prawie kisielowate, nisko nasycone, finisz goryczkowy ;
Smak: goryczka ziołowa, słodycz i lekka wędzonka, lekka kwaskowość, goryczka za długa ;
Ogólnie: takie sobie, wędzonka zbyt delikatna, ale za to żyto zrobiło swoje .
