Dark honey coloured with tiny cream head. Aroma is fermented raisins and pine. Alcohol is also noticable. First taste is sweet and caramel, but is followed by an intense bitterness that grows in the aftertaste. The mouth feel is tart and I don't find it very pleasant. Alcohol dominates in the after taste as well. Not my cup of IPA.... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Murky orange/amber with no head at all. Aroma of citrus, mainly grapefruit, and some pineapple. Taste is not as bitter as expected given the fact this is a TIPA. The alcohol is very present, making this TIPA taste and feel like a ’regular’ IPA. Good beer but not very special. Ecoeurante....

Maris (1000) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2014
From a 330ml bottle on 15/10/2014. Pours a cloudy apricot with virtually no head. The nose features caramel, fruit and honey but is perhaps more malty than hoppy. Sweet stone fruit (peach, apricot) and brown sugar dominates in the mouth, but there’s also a good dose of caramel malt, along with a firm, resiny, slightly tart, lingering bitterness which features just a touch of grapefruit and lemon. Has a syrupy palate and moderate carbonation. This is an unusual and very interesting brew. It’s big and bold but far from a typical imperial IPA. Lovely.

Pours copper with a small, dense head. Nose shows loads of sweet rich caramel malt with some resinous and piny hops underneath. Intense flavours. A lot more malt but the hops are more prominent overall. Big piny notes alongside a whack of hot alcohol.

Bottle 33cl. Dark amber wit an offwhite head. Yeast and alcohol in the nose and hints of hop. Not as much as I hoped for. Flavour of rich malt (some might think it’s too much). It has not the IPA effect as the double IPA - DIPA. Very full bodied and a long lasting finish.

Bottle from Mitra, Beukenweg. Amber orange, beige head. Fruity nose. Syrup sweetness, toffee, strawberry, rising heavy bitter. Grows on you. Doesn’t really show it’s 10% ABV.

On tap at Janoinen Lohi, Helsinki. Pours hazy orange with a big, dense white head - looks magnificient. The aroma features a mouth-watering combination of hoppy elements: strong fruity and floral hoppiness with especially citrus and exotic fruits prominent. Taste is as rich and varied as the aroma suggested but also very smooth; the full body feels velvety in the mouth with the carbonation soft. Medium to heavy bitterness dominates the taste, though some initial sweetness is around for a while. Citrus and tropical fruits provide the bulk of the flavours. A delicious, rich Dutch DIPA.

Lives up to the billing as a tripel IPA: it's mildly bitter and floral but weighs in at 10% while not really feeling like it.

Bottle. Pours a reddish clear beer. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Taste is bitter with hints of fruit. To bitter for my taste.

Ik ben al geen grote IPA-fan en dit gaat mij zeker ook niet overtuigen. Echt niet te drinken.
