Bottle. dark amber color. Maple syrup, dried red fruit and some remaining hops in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor, with some grassy hopbitterness and dried red fruit. Raisin. A slight alcohol burn. Low on carbon.

Mild hopfiger Beginn, der in weiten Teilen das Malz überdeckt. Eher wenig würzig, erst im Verlauf intensiver, mild alkoholisch-hefig, etwas herb. Süßer Abgang, hopfig, alkoholisch. 9/11/10/11/9/11

Yellow-beige small head over dark red-amber ale. Cookies, very demure,... a shy Emelisse? Quite bitter, tannine-rich; bitter cake and resiny. Finishes on a rather harsher bitterness, severe. Sliick, oily to nearly sticky MF, but snuzzling up to one. Less intense than expected. Thanks to Kees!

On tap at De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 02.03.12 Pours amber with a white head. This is initially quite furiously both bitter & sweet with an emphasis on the bitterness. There are some dusty hops and a significant warming from the alcohol. Citrussy (lemony) under that sweetness with a slight pithy edge. A7 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.1

330ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo a few months ago. Fawn-coloured head leaving fragile lacing down the glass. Deep, dark ruby coloured body. Mid-sweet aroma of plums and earthy malts. Well blended jam-like taste with dried fruits and malt fruity bitterness towards a long-lived ending. Integrated alcohol. Full bodied. Perfect as a late night sipper (Tromsø, 20.10.2012).

33cl bottle, BB 12/2013 bought at Emelisse biershop. Cuivrée, rubis, col épais, crémeux collant au verre, beige café au lait. Arôme est fruité noir, sucre candi avec un houblon épicé presque sur les herbes de montagne, malt pâle avec un rappel à la réglisse. Palais garde me^me avec une bouteille de plus d’un an un profil bien herbacé avec une amertume qui perdure ne fin de bouche. Note aussi ce côté fruité noir de prune voire date qui se note en parallèle à un palais restant doux sucré collant aux lèvres presque de sirop et une fini légèremetn épicé.

Small offwhite head. Clear deep dark red body. Fruity caramelly earthy aroma with raisiny toffee notes. Dry-sweet toffee, caramel and dried fruit taste with wild berry notes. Full body. Slightly hot mouthfeel. Dry wild berry and fruit aftertaste with earthy oily caramelly peppery chocolatey notes. Really nice and well balanced. Highly drinkable. Bitter finish. Sampled @ PINT Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2012. Slightly hazy dark amber color, small off-white head. Smell slightly malts, pretty hoppy, slightly sweet. Taste malts, sweet, alcohol, hops. Full carbonation, medium body.

From a 0.33 L bottle. Clear reddish amber body. Dense low blond top. Smell of sweet biscuity and caramelly malts. Plummy fruit tones and a whiff of resiny hops. Taste is bitter-sweet with a big and clean caramelly malt body. Fruit-cake frutiness and a bold fruity and resiny bitterness. Medium body, oily texture Warming alcohol and a hoppy bite in the ending. Good stuff.

Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark amber body with subtle head. Nose of sweet caramel, toffee and lots of barley wine. Taste is sweet, sugary, with rough texture and lots of barley in there. Really nice. Hops kick in at the end. Very well done!
