UPDATED: MAR 13, 2014 bottle at home for my 500th review. bought a bottle for just 3 euro’s. poured a orange amber colour with a non lasting head. bourbon hits the nose while pouring. lot of vanilla, sweet caramel, almonds, oak, milky smooth mouthfeel, only bad thing about it is that the bourbon is to overwelming for a barley wine. balance is a bit gone by the intense bourbon hit I need to re-rate this! boy this beer is insane! got it served after 1.5 hour in the fride. the bourbon combination with the vanilla is insane!

330ml bottle. Pours dark orange brown with a small head. Aroma is minty bourbon with a little caramel. Taste has bourbon and toffee to start with a strong bourbon and alcohol finish.

Bottled, BB dec 2015, large sample. Clear orange to amber color with loads of debris floating around, short frothy head. Aroma of huge vanilla and bourbon, cookie, biscuit. Vanilla milk shake. Actually its way overdone, but I love it nonetheless. Taste has lots of vanilla and banana sweetness together with biscuit and cookie dough again. This could be a Ben & Jerry’s icecream flavor easily, and one of their bestsellers Id say. Slight alcohol burn in the finish. It’s a barley wine overpowered by bourbon, or a bourbon watered down with a barley wine. Either way, it does the trick for me. Lovely stuff.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a copper colour with a small thick white head. Aroma of rich caramel sweetness, butterscotch, bourbon, vanilla and strong wooden notes. Flavour is very rich and thick with caramel, massive bourbon notes, plums, very elegant wooden tartness, green apples and vanilla. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a very long sharp finish with strong dried fruity notes. A big beer.

Keg at De Wildeman, 10th December 13. Full on aroma, really oaky? Some bourbon, sweetish. The flavour is rounded and balanced, very drinkable, especially at this ABV. Nice one to have as a winter warmer

Bottle @ home. Aroma is big sweet woody vanilla bournon caramel madness. Flavour is caramel, deep malt sweetndess, red fruits, some alcohol, vanilla, wood, light roast, plum, raisin, vanilla, wood, brourbonny alcohol slowly fading away. In that order. Awesome.

Bottle @ dEnk’s, thanks! Clear amber pour, thin off-white head. Aroma is full of vanilla, leather, sugary malts, huge bourbon and fruits. Flavor is warming bourbon, thick sweet malts and with a huge smooth body. Amazing brew, especially for bourbon lovers.

Bottle, 11/23/2013. Pours reddish clay color, thin white swirly haze on the surface, light ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma is caramel butterscotch, dark grain bread, vanilla and freshly shaved coconut, preserved fruit, round thick bourbon finish, some booze. Taste is toffee vanilla with candied fruit, silky caramel bourbon, nice. Thick body, smooth and slick on the tongue. Really tasty.
