On tap @ Borefts 2013. This is a light cloudy or deep blurry wood brown one. It had a small islandy head that’s leaving good lacework on the sides of the glass. The nose is filled with sweet caramel and sticky malt goodness. It’s not to extreme really but present and quite inviting. Can’t sense to much of the buffalo to be honest. Maybe some wet rocky thing all the way in the back? It’s just as sticky and caramel malt sweet in the taste as the aroma told me it should be. Vanilla wood and a little whisky burn makes this really interesting and flavorful. It’s also somewhat fruity with lots of ripe old fruits. All flavors are well integrated and it’s a really good barley. 28.09.2013

Tons of vanilla. Not much of a head cherry wood color. Lots of the bourbon in the aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

cherry oak color. Tons of vanilla and oak in the nose, fairly boozy. The mouth is full body, fairly boozy. Sweet, low carbonation, tons of oak and bourbon. Heavy, somewhat syrupy. Big big beer. Creamy mouth feel. Fairly over the top, but as I expected. Loved it.

Bottle from bieresgourmet.be webshop. Pours a slightly hazy amber-hued nougat brown body with a small white head. Nose is caramel, cream, bourbon, hints of alcohol and toffee. Taste is burnt sugar, caramel, butterscotch, hints of toffee and bourbon. Full body, soft to medium carbonation. OK barley wine.

Tap at Borefts ’13, 28/09/13. Lightly hazed golden amber with a thin light beige head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is dark fruit, vanilla, sweet smelling, cake mix. Taste comprises dates, caramel, vanilla essence, creme brulee, woody tones, light spice. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light boozey notes in the finish. Decent barley wine, the alcohol is well integrated.

Draught at BBF13. Pours dark amber with a light beige head. Aroma of especially bourbon notes (vanilla, buttery caramel) and oak. Full body with nice sweetness level and a rather dry finish. Flavour is too much bourbon for my taste, takes away the balance.
