4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bought this by recommendation from the shopkeeper at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam! Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, oak and peat. Flavor of malts, coffee, smoke, tar, peated whisky, oak, slight sting of alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation, some alcohol in the finish. Might just bee the best beer i tried so far! Great recommendation dude!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. I poured quite aggressively (from high and fast) but still hardly any head. Brown in color, though. The beer is almost pitch black. No, it’s not pitch black. Light penetrates the fringe of the surface, revealing a very dark brown (almost black) color. The aroma that mostly comes through is a noticeable whiskey. The flavors are nice; some whiskey at the start, some mossy smoke and some sweetness. Mouthfeel is smooth but not creamy. Finish is a bit of bitter smoke.
The BA in this does not come through as hints; it’s very noticeable. The aroma, and to a lesser degree the flavors, of Scotch, are not my thing. But still, this is a good beer. I’m a fan of imperial stouts. Aging it in an Ardbeg cask can’t ruin it THAT badly for me!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pitch black color, beige head. Aroma of judain, peat and lots of whisky aromas. Flavor and mouthfeel are quite boozy but still very nice to drink.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium smoked, medium bitter, low sweet. In comparison with the normal IRS from emelisse, I only taste slightly more smoke and a little whisky. A nice one, but had better BA stouts.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown body and tan soapy head. Loads of whiskey, tobacco, peat and roasted. Rich taste, well pronounced but not really my thing with all that whiskey. (33cl bottle at MrHangover’s tasting)

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
From bottle at Borefts Beer Festival 2012. Black with no head. Mostly smoked peat whiskey onthe nose but also sweet and roasted notes. Heavy ash and fireplace notes on sweet roasted flavors. Full bodied and smooth to drink but a dry mouth at the end of the lengthy finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted at Borefts 2012. Pours pitch black with no head at all. Aroma of peated whisky and roasted malts. Thick soy like mouthfeel. Taste is malty, some good liquorice, tar and whisky which makes a light burn at the final.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured at Borefts 2012. Black with a minimal pale head. Aroma is peat, whiskey, fig. Slightly slick mouthfeel, sweet and boozy on the palate. Taste is smoke, whiskey, hint of wood. Like most of the white label series, seems a little harsh.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Bergen, Norway. Extremely foamy stout! When settled it appears promising. The odour is tantalizingly awesome: lovely smell. Nice stout though unfortunately only with a inferior Ardbeg-touch present.
